Our mind was designed to have a negative bias.
This is what kept us alive when we were still struggling to survive.
This negative bias is particularly activated when we feel that our survival is threatened.
We feel it keenly when we're stressed out,
Verging on burnout,
Feeling depleted.
When our mind keeps reminding us that the world is dangerous,
This is what we start to believe and of course in some situations it is.
But most of the time it really isn't.
When happy feels strange to your subconscious and your body you start to self-sabotage.
Has that ever happened to you?
Everything starts to go well for you and then you sabotage.
Your subconscious was simply stuck in life's difficult,
It can't feel this good.
Life can feel this good.
Please listen to this meditation that will help you wake up your senses and have your mind focus on what's good.
Let's dive in.
First,
I want you to make yourself comfortable.
Relax.
Let your shoulders drop.
Unwrinkle that forehead of yours.
Let it all drop.
Feel it drop.
Now breathe in slowly and breathe out slowly.
At your own pace.
It's all good.
Breathe in.
In and out.
In your own time.
Take a few more breaths.
Relax.
What do you like seeing?
Dew drops on a rose petal.
Your child's smile.
The night sky.
Bluebells in a meadow.
Something that delights you when you see it.
Really see it.
Now,
Bring up something that you like hearing.
The wind on the leaves.
Your cat purring.
A Bach cantata.
A belly laugh.
Listen to it.
Listen.
Now,
Something you like to smell.
Fresh ground coffee.
Orange blossom.
Your lover's hair.
Coco chandel mademoiselle.
What do you like to smell?
Can you smell it even more?
And love it even more?
If your mind starts to wonder,
Simply bring it back to what you like smelling.
Now,
Something you like to taste.
Strawberries.
Freshly picked strawberries.
Bubbly water.
Licorice.
Lemons.
Whatever it is,
Taste it even more.
Even more.
What do you adore to touch?
Cashmere.
Your skin.
The bark on a tree.
Your piano keyboard.
Start feeling it intensely.
Feel it some more.
Sensing all of this feels so good.
It feels so good.
And there's more.
Stay in it for as long as you like.
Savor it.
There's more.
