Hi everyone,

My name is Kate Solis-Silva and I'm thankful to be sharing a five-minute family meditation with you.

Meditation is a wonderful tool that can support you and your family in finding a moment of pause,

A way to be more present,

And an opportunity to reconnect to what matters most,

Especially in times of uncertainty.

To begin,

Find a comfortable location for everyone to sit and be still for the next few moments.

As you settle in,

Close your eyes or shift your gaze down,

Whatever is most comfortable for all.

We'll start by taking a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Let's repeat that.

Again,

Breathing in deeply to become more centered and exhaling as you connect to yourself.

Let your lungs fill fully and slowly release,

Making space for quiet and calm.

In this silence,

Begin to turn your focus inwards.

Scan through your body.

From the tips of your toes to the top of your head,

Where do you note tension?

Anywhere you do,

Breathe deep,

Allowing for those spaces to soften and to release.

Now,

Begin to tune into your feelings.

What are you noticing here?

Take a moment to breathe into your emotions,

Feeling them fully and letting go of any heaviness that you uncover.

In this softer place,

Note the connection you have not only to yourself,

But to your family members.

Release any tensions you may be feeling with someone in the moment and make space for love.

Take this opportunity to send love to your family members.

Lean into feelings of support and togetherness,

Knowing that no matter the circumstance,

You can always call on this connection.

Breathe deeper into this love.

Let it wash over you as you tap into deeper gratitude and calm.

Sit for a moment in this feeling and in this space.

Connected to love for yourself and for your family.

Begin to open your eyes and reconnect to one another.

Recognize the space that you've made for yourself so that you can be there for you and for your family.

Thank you so much for sharing in this five minute family meditation with me.

I hope this bite-sized offering provides comfort and calm in this time of uncertainty.

Be well.
