Welcome to the Health Rebellion Meditations.
This practice is here to help you explore and understand the patterns that shape your choices and to begin creating space for something new.
Find yourself a comfortable position.
Sitting or laying down wherever you are now is fine.
Let yourself settle in,
Supporting your body so that you can find length in your spine and ease in your muscles.
Gently close your eyes or soften and lower your gaze.
Let your hands gently rest.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your shoulders soften and drop.
Let your belly be soft.
Your hips loosen.
Gently wiggle and then relax your toes.
Take a moment to fully arrive here and now.
Let go of everything that you've been doing.
Of everything you think you need to do.
This is your time to rest.
Listen and feel.
Bring your attention to your breath.
You don't need to change it.
Just notice the rhythm.
Observe the ebb and flow.
Like a tide rolling in and out.
Let your breath be your anchor,
Grounding you to this moment.
Now breathe a little deeper.
Feeling your chest rise,
Your ribs expand and your belly inflating like a balloon.
Make your exhale slow and steady.
Allow your body to settle.
Allow yourself to be held.
Imagine yourself in a peaceful,
Natural setting.
Maybe it's a quiet woodland path,
A wildflower meadow or a garden at the edge of a forest.
Whatever comes to your mind is just perfect.
And don't worry if you can't get a clear image of this place.
Just find a sense of being there.
With each breath,
You take a step,
Walking slowly through this space.
It's calm,
Undisturbed and peaceful.
You feel the texture of the ground beneath your feet.
Notice the smells in the air.
And feel the gentle caress of the breeze against your skin.
Ahead of you,
There's a clearing.
Open,
Sunlit and inviting.
As you step towards the clearing,
You see at its centre a still,
Wide pool of crystal clear water.
Twinkling like scattered jewels in the sunlight.
You feel mesmerised,
As if its depths are calling to something ancient within you.
Drawn by its quiet pull,
You move closer until you're kneeling at the water's edge.
You gaze into its surface,
Watching the ripples slow and fade.
Until the water becomes smooth as glass and dark as midnight.
Slowly an image begins to form.
You see yourself,
But this is no ordinary reflection.
The water is not showing your face,
But your essence.
It reveals the landscape of your inner world.
The old patterns you've walked like well-worn paths.
The hidden responses etched deep within you,
Shaped by stories,
By wounds,
By love and survival.
And yet,
In this quiet darkness,
There is clarity.
A chance to witness,
Not with judgement,
But with understanding.
Just observe.
You may see familiar habits.
Common reactions.
Moments where you reached for something to soothe or to survive.
Let images and sensations rise up gently.
There's no need to search or analyse.
Your subconscious knows what to show you.
What do you see?
Perhaps a moment of stress floats to the surface.
A pattern that repeats.
A quiet inner voice whispering that you must keep striving,
Proving,
Earning your worth.
Maybe you can see a habit that no longer serves you.
Or a belief that you've been carrying for far too long.
One that was never truly yours to begin with.
Now,
Allow the water to shift.
It begins to shimmer,
And just for a moment you glimpse a light beyond the darkness.
A sense that something more is waiting for you,
Just beyond these old patterns.
A different way of living,
One that feels more grounded,
More free,
More true.
Can you see flickers of what that life might look like?
What habits or beliefs might you need to soften?
What might need to fall away so that life can begin to emerge?
You don't need to see the full picture,
Just let yourself be drawn to that light.
That quiet knowing that change is possible.
That maybe,
Just maybe,
There's a better way to live.
And that you are already walking towards it.
Rest in that space between awareness and possibility.
And when you're ready,
Bring your attention back to the breath.
Back to your body.
And back to the room around you.
Gently begin to move your fingers,
Your toes.
If it feels right,
Place a hand over your heart and thank yourself for showing up.
Gently open your eyes and take a moment to write down anything that came up.
Feelings,
Insights,
Images or questions.
Let this be part of your health rebellion.
The quiet,
Courageous act of listening within.
