Satsang; A Talk On Thoughts
by Jassany
This talk is an open exploration of my mind. May it serve as an empowering reflection to your own inner world. May it provide fresh, deeper understanding through which you can feel liberated from the bondage to fear, limiting beliefs & feel lighter. May it create some space between you & your thoughts. A little space to breathe & feel the freedom & wellness that is who you truly are. "You are that space where thoughts & feelings can exist. You are that space that can contain all of life."

Hmm interesting thoughts just had a thought that said well it started with a thought that was hmm maybe I'm in the mood to do a talk to just talk and then a little voice came in how does one do a talk with oneself like who's asking the questions and who's answering aha perhaps it's my ego asking the questions and my intuition answering maybe who's who how do I know who I am here I am so the mind starts thinking who am I looking for answers looking through files mental files how do I answer this question looking for the words to describe what I am and then who I really am is just here present I am that space where all of this is happening and I'm just letting it happen I choose to breathe and then don't react so quickly on that fear that told me I had to say something I had to answer who I am because I asked a question and now someone's listening and they're gonna expect an answer so you better start talking so that again was ego fear a story a belief a belief that when a question is asked someone has to answer something I learned along life makes sense and then there's this space the space triggers the ego to show up because the ego is the mind and when there is a lot of space the only way that the ego can feel alive and like it's something tangible existent is by thinking a thought and now I can either identify with that thought whatever it said however it made me feel because the thought triggers a feeling so I could react on that feeling maybe the feeling if it's fear makes me want to stop makes me want to run away out of fear of saying the wrong thing of not being enough these are all the different kinds of fears that can feed our decisions and get us to act on them take action to feel safe fear is really just trying to protect us in some way it wants us to feel comfortable doesn't want something bad to happen fear is fear fear is in a state of fear it's scared and fear doesn't want to feel something bad happening which is itself it doesn't want to feel itself because fear carries the message of something is wrong and it's vibration so it even runs away from itself it doesn't want to feel itself because fear is telling fear that there is something to fear and that things aren't okay and that you should be worried so it's trying to be safe it's trying to help itself when it brings up itself it's telling you that something isn't okay so that you can take action and look for safety find a safe place and then that's when the reaction comes in what does the safe place look like what do I have to do to find a safe place that's the process that comes after the feeling of something is wrong that the fear brings up the next part is okay how do I make this right that's usually the subconscious mind so the mind that is just working in the background all the time on its own that's usually how the process goes something uncomfortable happens there's fear and then the next thought is how do I stop feeling the fear usually what do I do to not feel this anymore what do I have to change what do I have to fix but see if we are always operating from fear there's always this feeling of there's something to change there's something to fix which can be very exhausting which can prevent us from ever relaxing because there's always something else to do there's always something different to say fear is a state of lack something is wrong something is missing that's the language of fear so how do we work with fear I feel like working with opposites creates balance so for example the opposite of sky being too in our heads being too floaty cloudy heady too much thoughts the opposite of that is a little more earth a little more grounding you know up down above below above the sky below is deep into the earth so maybe like the medicine for being way too up in the clouds can be connecting to something solid something stable a feeling of safety connecting to the earth which is interesting because the chakra that is connected to fear is the root chakra which is the chakra that is closest to the earth it's the chakra that is at the base of our spine so it's closest to our feet which has to do with our foundation our legs whether or not we feel supported because if we're too up in the higher chakras if we're too up in thinking and believing we are our thoughts our identity is constantly changing because thoughts are constantly changing so our emotions changing like crazy as well because a thought triggers an emotion so our emotions constantly changing too and if we believe we're everything that we think and feel then that can be that can feel like a lot so i feel like bringing in awareness and the practice of being the observer creates some space it creates some space between being everything being every thought every reaction every fear every sadness every worry every hesitation being every single one of those all the time and then just being being something that is changing that is the constant between all of these so if you are your emotions and your thoughts and let's say i identify as my emotions and my thoughts i can see that they're always changing so there's no solid foundation there's no solid sense of who i am because my thoughts are going from one thing to another saying something saying ah i don't like this or maybe i like this i like the way my voice sounds this is giving me anxiety or i don't know if i like that what is someone gonna say about that or ah you know so many things thoughts think so many things so for me it helps to see the mind as its own little thing personality being and it's one that has no boundaries no control it can go from one spectrum to the other spectrum from positive to dark from i want that to i hate that with just a thought and i know it sounds like pretty crazy when i say it like that which it kind of is you know it's kind of crazy it's like a being with no with no solid ground it's like the mind is a being that things different things and goes from thought to thought from feeling to feeling after a lot so the more i let my mind be its own identity its own crazy always changing persona the more that helps me to focus on how i feel and how my thoughts make me feel and then to ask myself who do i want to be in this situation and that's when i remember that i have a choice what i choose to feed what i choose to say what i say yes to for example now where whenever i have a pause a silence maybe i'll have a thought that says you should fill up the silence out of fear out of fear that i won't have something to say if i wait too long i can choose to engage where i can just take a deep breath and calling faith and trust surrender and and it's a process my friend it's a process oh it's a process and then don't react so rapidly so quickly just sit with it let it change begin to get familiar with your mind and how it changes how it will change sit with yourself sit with your thoughts just out of curiosity for a moment without judgment without there being a thought that could be wrong or could hurt you or make you unworthy for having it let's say this thought is just a whole another person within you and you're just watching so you're here just holding space being the space where a thought can come in and then breathe you don't have to look for a thought but the thought of looking for a thought i'm looking for a thought it's a thought sit with that one see what happens after after that one then no matter what thought you're having or not having or you're maybe thinking about what you're thinking and what am i even thinking now i'm getting too trampled around having thoughts who knows just hold space for that and feel how you are this space where thoughts can come in and come out feel how you are the space where a thought can exist let your eyes close to let your eyes close if they're not closed already just to tap into your third eye and just your inner vision and the sense of space maybe it's dark in the space because your eyes are closed the space is dark you know like outer space so just imagine that you are the space like galaxies where planets planets and stars and meteors and solar systems can exist you're this open vast space where a thought like a meteor or a shooting star can come in all of the sudden describing anything in particular a memory remember the mind thinks just to feel its sense of self to feel its sense of existence because a mind without thinking feels scared of not existing so it gets a little bit uncomfortable or a lot of uncomfortable with silence and space it starts to look for safety for its sense of self again just see explore what you are beyond this beyond this mind beyond the feelings beyond the thoughts what happens when you just breathe and you let your hands soften you release a little bit of the grasping that is the mind manifesting in your body through a feeling of fear I should do something I should clench I feel like that's what happens when we clench really a thought that says I should be doing something and it's like I should you know like I do that's what the body does it reacts like it reacts by clenching clenching is also a reflection of control wanting to have control because maybe in the moment we're not physically reacting or doing something to respond to the thought physically but there's something subtle that maybe happens in the body where it clenches to feel safe to have control to react to fear you are the space where anything and everything can happen and you're just holding space for it you're okay even if it happens even if it doesn't the sense of unconditional wellness and contentment and okayness the sense of I am I am regardless regardless whether I think or not regardless if I breathe or not if I feel and believe that I am my feelings or not I just am this pure presence just being essence love love is so allowing it lets all of life exist all parts of it the dark the light the fearful the scary it's just this container that is so vast so open that anything can come in can land on it can rest can be there for a moment can stay love allows it doesn't push it doesn't tell it you have to go away for me to be okay that's fear you see love is okay anyway because love loves even the fear it can contain it has compassion for it because it's scared it doesn't want to feel pain it wants to be safe like a little child and love is the mother with them thank you for listening thank you for being here and being so receptive much love to you my friend
