Hello.

Welcome.

My name is Joseph Abizar.

I am the founder and CEO of Usir Consulting,

Where we work diligently on creating global communities of belonging.

This grounding practice is going to be a short and sweet one designed with the intentions to help you arrive in the space that you're in when you don't have all the time that you need.

Feel free to engage as is accessible to you,

As is comfortable for you,

And listen to your body as this is a somatic practice.

You ready?

Good.

Let's begin.

I want to invite you to liberate your hands,

Releasing anything that they're holding,

And start rumming them together,

Creating some friction.

You can pretend you're coming in from the cold as you're generating heat between your palms.

I want to invite you to place hand over heart,

Hand over stomach,

Does not matter which one.

Closing your eyes or finding a soft resting gaze as you're comfortable.

Let's count down from three,

Two,

One,

And hand over heart,

Hand over stomach.

Closing your eyes or finding a soft resting gaze as you take some deep breaths into your belly before you exhale.

And in this first breath,

Take this moment to just acknowledge yourself and your presence in the space,

Regardless of all the barriers that you faced virtually,

Physically,

Or otherwise,

And acknowledge that the here and now is more than enough.

In your next breath,

Let's acknowledge any tensions that might be arising in your body as this moment of pause might cause some things to shift to the surface.

Listen to what you need,

Others to engage in a deeper breath,

Some rest,

Or anything in between.

On your second breath,

You always want to remember to move your body if it needs to,

To ease those tensions.

On our third breath,

Take this moment to acknowledge those in our lives who might be struggling to breathe,

People in communities and homes close to us,

Or people in places far away,

All of us needing moments of respite and empathy.

On our fourth breath,

You want to acknowledge all the First Peoples of all the lands we sit on today,

The people people,

The animal people,

The stewards and the caretakers,

Acknowledging our roles as caretakers and stewards of all the spaces we occupy and interact with.

On our fourth breath,

Let's take a nice deep inhale,

Release.

In our last breath,

Let's inhale deep in through our nose,

Holding it in our bellies for three,

Two,

One,

And exhale back into the space,

Dropping your arms to be raised,

Opening up your eyes if they were closed,

And giving your body the movement that it needs.

Feel free to revisit this recording whenever you need.

We'll be here.

Thank you.

Gracias.
