Hi,

Welcome back.

My name is Joshua Besar.

I hope you are having an amazing day,

And thank you for taking the time to engage in a practice for yourself.

This meditative practice is intended to slow us down and get us in the movement of visualizing what we need to sustain ourselves.

I will guide us through a quick somatic practice,

And afterwards,

I want you to engage in journaling activity.

I will ask a few questions,

And afterwards,

You can either pause the video or come back and engage in the journaling activities.

I will also upload the questions,

So that way you can come back to that and engage in some self-reflection.

Deliberate our hands,

Create some friction.

I will count us down from three,

And when I do so,

You will place one hand over your heart,

The other over your stomach.

Doesn't matter which one,

Whatever feels right to you.

Three,

Two,

One.

Hand over heart,

Hand over stomach.

Closing our eyes,

We're comfortable.

We're finding a soft resting gaze.

However,

It's accessible for us.

However safe it is for us.

Breathing in through our nose,

Breathing out through our mouths,

In a slow and sustained way.

Taking this moment to adjust whatever needs to be adjusted,

To plant your feet firmly on the ground if needed,

Arching our back,

As we breathe into our lungs,

Into our bellies.

We're breathing,

Whether it's sitting,

Whether it's laying,

Or in some other form.

Ask ourselves,

How are we?

What do you need?

Stay engaged in your breath.

And I will bring forward some beautiful words by Judy Brown called Fire,

Before we engage in our journaling activity.

Before we engage in our journaling activity.

What makes a fire burn is the space between the logs,

A breathing space.

Too much of a good thing,

Too many logs,

Packed in too tight,

Can douse the flames almost as surely as a pail of water would.

So building fires requires attention to the spaces in between as much as to the wood.

When we are able to build open spaces in the same way we have learned to pile on the logs,

Then we can come to see how it is fuel and absence of the fuel together that make fire possible.

We only need to lay a log lightly from time to time,

A fire grows simply because the space is there,

With openings in which the flame that knows just how it wants to burn can find its way.

Take a deep,

Beautiful breath,

And when it feels right to you,

Exhale,

Come back into the space,

Open eyes,

If they were closed,

Give your body some movement.

Feel free to pause this video to take a moment to engage in some self-reflection or to appreciate to take a moment to engage in some self-reflection or to obtain a paper,

Writing utensil,

Or whatever you'll be using to engage in your journaling activity.

That we will be engaging during our time today will be,

Can you think of a situation in your life where giving space allowed something positive to develop?

How might you apply the principle of creating space in your daily routine?

Reflect on a time when you felt overwhelmed,

How could the concept of creating space have helped you manage that situation better?

Finally,

Create a personal action plan for incorporating more breathing space into your life.

What specific steps will you take to ensure balance and growth?

Take a moment to let those questions,

To let the poem sit with you,

Take time to pause,

Engage in some music.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you for joining us again and my hopes is that within this practice you have found a way to lay a log,

Just a little bit more to help continue your fire and welcome you back and I look forward to the next time that we're able to gather.

Once again,

My name is Joshua Guisar,

Renuncié de,

Founder and principal of Osir Consulting and I'll see you next time.

Thank you.
