Overcoming Inner Obstacles Practice number 1,
Uprooting Your Inner Obstacles.
This is a three-step process to unshackle the control of your deepest inner struggles.
Step 1,
Identifying the Root Cause.
We often operate on autopilot guided by deep-seated mental and emotional patterns that leave us feeling stuck and unfulfilled.
To break free,
We must first uncover these patterns that stir our inner turmoil.
Reflect on your reactive moments.
Consider moments in your day when you have been triggered.
What thoughts and emotions emerge when you are triggered?
Challenge yourself to dig deeper for more understanding and clarity.
Ask,
What belief,
Thought,
Or feeling lies beneath your reaction?
Probe further,
What's beneath that?
What's the core belief or fear?
Repeat this introspection to unearth the fundamental belief or feeling.
Most people end up seeing that their reactions are often tied to feelings of inadequacy and or fear.
Recognize these as common human experiences,
Not unique flaws.
Understanding not enough.
A common psychological threat among us is the belief that if we were to stop trying so hard and just be ourselves,
We wouldn't be enough to experience safety,
Inner peace,
And a fulfilling life.
By confronting this not-enough syndrome and its consequential fears,
We expose our primal fear of pain,
Whether physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
Or spiritual.
The fear that not being enough will lead to suffering.
Just relaxing,
Letting our guard down,
And being ourselves scares us that we'd be hurt and therefore experience pain and suffering.
Decisions driven by fear.
When we constantly make decisions out of fear to avoid discomfort or pain,
We may unknowingly limit ourselves and miss out on transformative opportunities.
However,
By identifying our core fears,
We can shift our perspective using the meditative flow approach,
Allowing us to make choices from a place of growth and freedom rather than avoidance.
Exploring the origin of patterns.
Some seek to trace their psychological patterns back to their origin,
Whether it's through their genetics or upbringing or a spiritual journey predating this life.
Whether you prefer to look to the past or focus on the present,
The goal is to acknowledge your patterns,
Allowing for their transformation within the next steps of the meditative flow healing process.
By gaining deeper awareness of these underlying patterns,
We can now progress to the next step in our first practice of overcoming inner obstacles.
Step 2.
Be Kind and Normalize.
Self-criticism is a common hurdle in personal growth.
The journey to healing is not just about recognizing patterns,
But also about treating ourselves with compassion,
Care,
And recognizing our shared humanity.
I have found being able to say to myself,
Hey,
These thoughts or feelings are not good or bad,
They are just part of being human and are totally normal,
Has helped me learn to accept what's happening inside of me and be kinder and less judgmental with myself.
Embrace kindness and compassion toward yourself,
Recognizing that as part of the human family,
You share a wide range of thoughts,
Feelings,
And challenges with everyone else.
Remind yourself that your thoughts and emotions are neither good nor bad,
They are part of being human.
After you have become aware of the origin of some of your core beliefs and feelings in Step 1 and normalize them with kindness in Step 2,
You are ready to move on to Step 3.
Seeing a Larger Perspective.
As we have explored throughout this guide,
As human beings,
We can see life through many different perspectives or states of awareness.
As we know,
The human default is usually to see life from a perspective of limitations,
Insecurities,
And fears as a survival mechanism.
The meditations in the Meditation Flow System we have gone over in this guidebook gives us tangible ways to experience a higher,
Broader,
And deeper perspective on life and any belief or issues in our lives.
Now that we have practiced being kind with ourselves about our root issues,
We will apply our higher,
Broader perspective to look at the root from a different perspective.
This will allow us to bring more understanding,
Healing,
And possibly creative solutions to free ourselves from limiting beliefs,
Thoughts,
And emotions.
An example of how you would do this would be to use the Sky View Meditation,
Where you bring your awareness into the sky to get a higher and broader perspective on the inner obstacle you are addressing.
Looking at life's challenges from this higher and broader perspective is akin to opening a window to let fresh air into a stuffy room.
It brings lightness and clarity to our deepest rooted beliefs and patterns.
So the three-step process to uproot your inner obstacles are as follows.
Step 1.
Identify the root belief or feeling of your inner challenges.
Step 2.
Normalize the challenge and be kind and caring toward yourself.
Step 3.
Look at the challenge from a higher and broader awareness to gain more clarity and healing.
By moving through these steps,
You unlock a sense of lightness and freedom.
You will find inner peace that is not just a fleeting moment,
But also an active,
Sustained presence that enhances your ability to achieve goals with minimal internal interference.
This is the essence of living in meditation flow,
Where each step reinforces the next,
Cultivating a life of serene confidence and purposeful action.
