Mother Earth is in deep right now for the human tribe to remember how to be in relationship with all living beings through Indigenous Wisdom. This 11-minute meditation is an opportunity to go outside and be in direct relationship with Mother Earth. You may also listen to this meditation while walking outside, or simply visualize yourself outside. Every time we return to the Earth, we are remembering, we are returning, we are reclaiming this inherent wisdom of our interconnectedness, the web of life - a homecoming and a moment of thanksgiving. Meegwetch (thank you) for listening.

Kwe,

Hi,

Welcome.

Allow yourself in these next few moments to gather yourself and bring yourself to the larger self.

The larger self,

Mother Earth.

And as you place yourself on her body,

Maybe removing shoes,

Socks,

Anything that could create a barrier or a space between you and her body.

If that feels comfortable and supportive for you,

You may stand barefoot,

You may sit,

You may lay and just place your whole body against her body.

You may even place hands,

Just finding a way to be with her.

Pause,

Breathe,

Feel.

Simply just notice the way body responds to Earth's body and the way that the Earth's body responds to your body.

So we pause,

Breathe and feel the presence of our relationship to our Holy Mother Earth.

The nebizone,

The medicine that she offers us.

And not only her,

Right,

But all the beings,

The winged ones,

The four grandparents,

The directions and the elements,

The way of wind,

The sounds of their voice and the distant leaves of the trees,

Or the voices of the winged ones and the songs and the words that they sing in their own precious language.

Maybe you can feel,

See or hear the presence of the insects,

Those with wings,

Those with lots of legs,

Who remain deeply connected and grounded on Earth.

So may we be like them,

May we learn from them in this moment.

What would it feel like to embody this sense of groundedness,

Of deep connection and awareness of the interconnected web that we are all a part of,

All of our relations.

Just noticing how breath,

How body,

Mind,

Emotions,

Your mental state,

Your spiritual state might shift from just these simple moments of returning to Earth,

Of being present with our Mother Earth and all of her bounty,

And all of her phases,

And all of her seasons,

And all of her expressions.

And if your eyes are closed,

I invite you to open them and just beginning to witness shapes,

Colors,

The dimensions,

And looking close at what is really,

Really in relationship with you right now.

Maybe even who is under your feet,

Right?

What medicine,

What plant being,

Even if it's the soil,

Right?

The soil is alive.

So what are you directly in relationship with physically?

And then expanding that vision to just take in who are you in a more distant relationship with in this moment,

Right?

So what's near and far and in between.

And as I say that,

All the trees are starting to respond to me.

And I always feel that they just so deeply appreciate this recognition,

This awareness of their presence here on Earth.

They're part of the whole and the gift that they bring to this Earth,

The medicine,

The teachings.

And just allowing yourself to just get a little lost here and gathering in the beauty of our Mother Earth as we have these final moments regulating with our beautiful Mother,

Receiving and giving.

What is here for you?

Who is here for you?

And who are you here for?

And what are you here for?

And just witness the body receiving breath,

Receiving life.

And start to gather more of that life into the body,

Creating space in the deep part of the belly,

Letting the front of the heart,

Back of the heart,

Sides of the heart expand with that breath and reach high,

High,

High up into your clavicle bone regions.

And then there's this soft release,

Either through the nose or audibly through the mouth.

And then just one more full three-dimensional breath.

And on the inhale,

Just tuning into the presence of the spark of creation,

The life,

The birth.

And then on the exhale,

There's this release,

This settling,

This softness,

This death really,

This gorgeous cycle,

This innate,

Very conscious cycle that we exist in.

And if the eyes floated,

Close,

You're welcome to open them whenever you feel ready.

I'm so honored that you shared this time with me and our Holy Mother Earth.

Miigwech.

Thank you.

Every time we return to the earth,

We are remembering,

We are returning,

We are reclaiming this inherent wisdom of our interconnectedness,

This web of life.

And so I consider that a homecoming and really a moment of thanksgiving.

So I honor you.

And every time you put your bare feet on the earth,

Or every time you just return to her in whatever way,

In whatever capacity,

To remember,

To return.

Miigwech.

Thank you.

Das it be.

Much love to you.

My name is Jessie Rose and I'm so glad to have shared this time together and I hope for more soon.
