It is ideal to practice this gratitude meditation on a daily basis,
Especially if you are not feeling grateful,
Or you are experiencing negative emotions and negative thoughts,
As practicing gratitude helps to cultivate the feelings of gratitude,
Appreciation and abundance.
And this can help the brain activate the release of dopamine,
Which is the feel-good hormone,
Helping you to cultivate positive emotions and positive thoughts.
And when you are experiencing the feeling of being grateful and having abundance,
This is what you emanate out to the world,
To the universe,
And you attract more of the same into your life.
You attract more things to be grateful for,
And you attract more abundance in your life.
And when we experience the feelings of abundance,
We are more willing to share what we have with those that are less fortunate than us.
So let's begin.
Please find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed,
Turning off or silence any distractions,
Finding a comfortable seated position,
With your hips higher than your knees,
Placing your hands on your thighs or your lap,
With your palms facing up,
With them open to receive.
Ready to receive the feelings of gratitude,
Appreciation and abundance that you are now about to generate,
And softly close down your eyes.
Take a moment to scan your body to ensure you are relaxed,
That you are not holding any tension,
Starting at the top of your head,
As you relax the top of your head,
Softening down into your face,
Unclenching your jaw,
Relaxing into your throat and neck,
Continuing that relaxation down into your arms,
All the way to your hands,
Relaxing your chest and upper back,
Middle back and lower back,
As you soften your stomach,
Relaxing into your legs,
All the way down to your feet,
Just allow your body to settle,
As you take a deep inhale,
Feeling your body expand,
And a full exhale,
Just releasing any stress and tension that you are holding,
Completely emptying your lungs,
Taking another deep inhale,
And another full exhale,
Completely empty your lungs,
Relaxing your body,
Relaxing your mind,
And return back to your natural breath,
Take your attention now,
To your breath,
As you inhale through your nose,
And down into your heart space at the centre of your chest,
And as you exhale,
The breath leaves your heart space and exits your nose,
Inhaling into your heart space,
Enlivening your heart,
And exhaling as it exits your heart space,
Just keep breathing in and out of your heart space,
Now I want you to silently repeat in your mind after me,
I am grateful for this new day,
I am grateful that I am alive,
I am grateful that I have this beautiful body,
I am grateful that I have this wonderful mind,
I am grateful for all of my senses,
So I can experience this beautiful world that we live in,
I am grateful for my consciousness in this human body,
So I am able to experience this as a human being,
I am grateful for the shelter my home provides,
I am grateful for the security my home provides,
I am grateful for the privacy that my home provides,
I am grateful for my freedom,
I am grateful for my freedom of speech,
I am grateful for my freedom of thought,
I am grateful for my freedom to imagine and to create,
I am grateful for my freedom to give and receive love,
I am grateful for my loved ones,
I am grateful for the food that I have,
I am grateful for the access to clean water,
I am grateful for my clothes,
I am grateful for all of my belongings and possessions,
I am grateful for all of the wonderful opportunities that are before me,
I am grateful for all of the opportunities that today will bring,
And I am grateful towards myself for allowing myself this time to improve my health and well-being,
Take your attention back to your heart space now,
As you breathe in and out of your heart space,
Allowing your heart to receive the feelings of gratitude,
Appreciation and abundance that you have just generated,
Allow your mind and your body to receive these feelings and carry them throughout your day,
This meditation is best practiced on a daily basis to cultivate the feelings of gratitude and abundance,
Allowing you to be more content and happy in your life,
Take your attention off your heart space now and just sit in the stillness that you have created,
Keeping your eyes closed,
Begin to stretch out into the space around you,
Slowly waking your body and very slowly in your own time begin to open your eyes,
Starting off gazing down at the floor,
Thank you for meditating with me.
