Welcome to the Soul Growth Sessions.

A place to nurture your soul and awaken your potential.

So today I wanted to talk about how to make a difficult decision.

I personally struggle with making decisions that have a big impact on my life and my future.

For me,

The struggle comes from this worry about making the right decisions because I'm really good at seeing all of the possibilities.

I'm really good at assessing all the little details,

All the pros,

All the cons,

Carefully assessing each option that I'm aware of,

Weighing up all the major factors involved and seeing all of the details that branch off from each choice.

So you would think that this makes things easier for me,

Right?

If I'm able to easily see such detail as well as the bigger picture in such an objective way.

Well,

What often happens is that I see all the pros and all the cons of each option so well that I can't make a clear decision about which path is tipping the scales in my favour more than the other.

For someone who personally identifies as an extremely intuitive person,

I can also become way too objective and too rational for my own good.

Or,

Even in paradox to this,

I often find myself too emotionally involved in assessing the options,

Ending up feeling lost and overwhelmed by all of the different scenarios available.

It just becomes information overload.

I end up experiencing everything involved all at once where everything just seems like an overwhelming mess again.

Even if I've often spent days,

Weeks or months weighing up all of the options,

Then what happens is I become frustrated with the time and energy spent assessing and weighing up everything,

Leaving myself not only with more stress,

But also with less clarity.

It's times like this when I often worry about making the wrong choice,

Wasting my time and energy on something that seemed right at the time,

Only to discover a dead end or stressful situation that leaves me feeling trapped or stuck.

It's times like this when I often question whether to listen to my head or my heart.

How do I know which one I should follow?

How can I know which one is right,

Especially when they seem at odds with one another?

If you can relate to any of this,

Then let me tell you about some insights that have helped me to find much needed clarity and a way forward.

So part of the problem is that we live in a stressful modern world and unfortunately our inner compass and sense of direction are highly sensitive to stress.

Stress and overstimulation scrambles our senses and numbs our sense of direction,

Greatly reducing our ability to make sound decisions or know how we really feel.

So here's something that I've learned.

Meditation is a powerful and simple solution to the many challenges of our modern world.

The magic of meditation is that it doesn't require much effort,

Allowing us to rest and recharge while restoring our higher functions.

When we are able to still the mind just enough,

We can see our options clearly,

Allowing us to feel the depth of knowing in our hearts and access our subconscious wisdom.

We all need time to let our minds relax,

To see the options in front of us clearly.

When our minds are relaxed,

Then we can hear what our heart has to tell us about what it feels.

This way they can work together,

Revealing the wisdom we need to move forward with confidence and clarity.

The interesting thing about this is that if you choose to follow your heart,

Then your mind will find a way to map out a path in line with that decision.

Your mind is excellent at identifying logical plans,

Seeking out all of the available options in your current awareness and presenting them to you.

Your heart,

On the other hand,

Is connected to deeper subconscious wisdom that is brought to your awareness through a hunch or a feeling.

The information can often feel vague yet it's incredibly valuable.

Your heart can feel things of great importance that your subconscious mind knows.

This felt knowing is something your conscious mind has often missed.

This felt sense helps us to stay aligned with our values and the direction of our true nature,

Allowing us to lead more fulfilling lives and embody our full potential.

The heart is a master of deep wisdom and subconscious knowledge.

The heart has valuable information that is often on a deeper level of knowing.

The heart feels what the subconscious knows.

However,

This heart-based wisdom can often be vague and abstract,

Which can be hard to make sense of.

It will often come to us as a hunch,

Vague knowing of something that's there,

Something that feels like an important part of the picture that doesn't quite make sense.

However,

Something magical happens when you learn to trust the vague feelings and hunches that your heart and subconscious presents to you.

If you allow your heart to guide you and trust in the feelings that it shows you,

Then your conscious mind will organize and identify any missing or incomplete pieces of information that your heart knew but often didn't have the words for.

The conscious mind collects,

Identifies and organizes.

The heart feels and perceives what the subconscious knows.

The conscious mind can't feel feelings,

But it can identify them and be told what to do with them.

So,

When we find a way to let the two of them talk,

Then we get the best of both,

All the variables that we are aware of from a balanced and clear perspective.

Our heart lets us know what paths feel aligned with our authentic self.

Our mind helps us to see options and makes clear decisions.

Both heart and mind work together as an inner compass to show us the way forward.

All this awareness of the magic and clarity that we can naturally tap into keeps coming back to the same conclusion.

We need time to let our minds relax and see the options in front of us clearly.

We need time to let the ripples on the surface settle in order to see into depth.

This allows us to feel the depth of knowing in our hearts and access subconscious wisdom.

This way,

Head and heart can work together,

Revealing the wisdom we need to move forward with clarity and confidence.

So,

Here's something you can try to still your mind just enough in order to see your options clearly,

While at the same time also allowing the intuitive knowing within your heart to add depth and wisdom.

Simply begin by imagining the options available to you.

Imagine each option as a path in front of you.

Each path representing a different choice or option.

As you observe each path,

Notice how these next questions feel.

Does this path open possibilities for me?

Does this path give me a voice?

Does it make me feel heard?

Does this path feel right in the long term?

Does this path make me feel open and expansive?

Does this path open possibilities and expand my life in some way?

Does this path expand me or my future?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes,

Then the decision is yes.

No matter how daunting or difficult it may seem,

The answer is clear.

If there's a path that feels right for you for your long term future and another path that feels right for now,

Something that feels safe and easy in the moment,

Remember this.

For any path you choose,

The feeling of expansion has to be available for the long term,

Even if that means short term difficulty and discomfort.

If it feels open and expansive in the long term,

Then choosing this direction is always the right path to take.

If any path makes you feel small,

Any path that shrinks,

Silences or inhibits you in some way,

Then the decision is always no.

No matter how easy or safe the decision may be.

However,

If you need a path that is easier and safer for now,

That's okay.

Just allow your heart to stay open to the paths that lead towards your long term growth and expansion.

Take the time you need to gather your strengths and take those steps towards your higher path when you're ready.

So I'd like to leave you with a final thought to complete our time here.

When we're able to still the mind just enough,

We can see our options clearly,

Allowing us to feel the depth of knowing in our hearts and access our subconscious wisdom.

So take the time to find little moments of peace whenever you can.

Because when we are not sure which direction to take,

When we choose the path of inner peace,

We are ultimately choosing ourselves.

Thank you for joining me in this episode of the Soul Growth Sessions.

I truly appreciate you sharing your time here with me and I hope you find something of value here today.

So until next time,

Take care my friend.
