Hello,
This is Jackie.
I'd like to introduce you to the No Sweat Insider's Guide to Intermittent Fasting for Health and Weight Loss.
Now,
I'm not a medical person.
I am NOT.
Research lust?
Yes,
I do admit to.
But talk to your doctor about any new program you might wish to embark upon,
Especially this one.
All my doctors and oncologist folks and heart surgeons and gynecologists,
They all weighed in on this with me.
That intermittent fasting is good and healthy for me.
And I think it could be for you too.
This guide is a brief introduction from years of research and personal experience.
So,
Intermittent fasting.
Why?
Why change what we've been doing?
Breakfast is the most important meal.
Blah,
Blah,
Blah.
Well,
It is a common enough refrain that you hear.
Breakfast is the most important meal.
But what if by breakfast it meant when you break your nightly sleeping fast?
What if it meant that?
What if breakfast meant something completely divorced from toast and tea or cornflakes and coffee the moment you wake up?
What if?
Ah,
Those powerful words.
What if?
Yes,
They spurred me to try intermittent fasting and that way of life.
And it spurred me to investigating it for the past four years.
Four years.
This is after a lifetime spent watching every mouthful of food,
Weighing my portions,
Measuring and obsessing over why everything that passed my lips ended up on my hips.
Why?
When diet after diet left me sad and hopeless and still fluffy despite constant exercise.
Oh,
You can't outrun your fork.
After decades of this,
Of tight pants,
Weighing,
Measuring,
Weighing in at the scale,
Points,
Keto,
Zone,
Atkins,
Mediterranean diets.
After a lifetime of starts and stops,
All wrapped up in guilt,
Disappointment and shame.
After all of that,
I found freedom.
Oh my gosh.
And you can too.
I'll tell you how.
I will.
But before we get to that,
What exactly is it?
What exactly is intermittent fasting?
I F is just a fancy multi syllabic complicated way of saying a you eat for a specific amount of time.
And that's it.
That's it.
It's simple,
Really simple.
With tremendous health benefits that all fan out from that initial digestive system rest that you give your body every day.
From just giving your gut a nap.
From processing food or drink.
That's it.
Just give it a break.
No sweat.
Simple.
But as it turns out,
There is a bit of a learning involved.
But it is easy to begin.
It's easy.
You see,
Your body has become accustomed to the way you're living now.
Since your babyhood,
You cry out when you're hungry and get more food.
So we as adults have a long history with our hunger pangs and answering them.
Food they say,
At first just a grumble.
Then I want food.
They grumble more loudly.
Food they yell after a longer time between meals.
And honestly,
Sometimes hunger feels very,
Very overwhelming,
Consuming almost to be subjected to the harsh reality of gnawing,
Gnawing,
Gnawing hunger.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I used to get so hungry and feel so grumpy and shaky.
When I would get hungry,
Hangry.
I carry it around almonds.
So I would never have to experience that.
I was caught up in a cycle,
In a habit of three meals and snacks.
Late evening noshing to keep all those hunger growlies away.
Truthfully,
It scared me to go without food when I was hungry.
Looking back,
Oh my gosh,
I remember feeling so,
So bad.
Headache,
Shaky,
Foggy brain.
Chew my arm off for a snack hungry.
And this feeling,
This harsh,
Raw feeling of starving is what a lot of people tell me.
That's what they think fasting is like.
That's what they think fasting is all about.
Guess what?
It is not.
Hunger pains do not grow and grow and grow to take over you like a tidal wave.
No.
They only go so,
So far.
Okay?
And at a certain point they have to stop.
Because it turns out our bodies were designed with more than one power source.
Sure,
That first one is the food you put in by mouth.
You know,
The food and drink.
The second is fuel stored in other storage places like the liver in your body.
The third source of fuel is your fluffy,
Puffy belly.
The scars you have,
The wrinkles,
A bump of unknown origin,
Skin tags.
You get it.
These are alternate sources of fuel for your body.
And the hardest to break down.
Therefore,
The last source,
Your body,
Will try to get energy from.
Being the efficient thing it is.
So,
These three storage areas,
There's a bit of a learning curve for your body to learn how to go from one to the other.
Don't all new things have a learning curve?
Because right now the way it is,
At the first signals of hunger,
Like the fuel light gauge on your car dash,
That means you need more fuel.
Of course,
The easy fuel,
More food.
But what happens if you postpone eating?
Do you curl up and poof,
Disappear in a cloud of dust?
Nope.
Your body is pretty keen to survive.
It will do whatever it has to to keep you alive.
That is its number one most important job.
So,
First it gives many hunger notices.
Like that light on your dashboard,
It's blinking like crazy.
But after a time,
It goes to a reliable store in your liver and taps into that fuel source.
That second fuel source.
When that is depleted,
It still has survival needs,
This body of yours.
So,
It begins to go to source number three.
Hey,
How about melting a little of that jiggle on your second chin?
Or the puff in your face?
Or thickness around your belly?
And all this happens naturally.
This third fuel source.
Power steering itself off of your thighs.
No pills,
No potions,
No shots,
No shakes,
No gimmicks.
Just simple,
Simple biology at work.
Okay,
So it's simple,
But a bit tricky right here.
Because at first,
Your body is learning.
Okay,
So we have just gone through part one where we discussed what intermittent fasting is giving your gut a break from digestion.
And what it is not.
Starving yourself crazy.
And I am going to take you in the next part,
Part two.
I'm going to show you how to cross over the fuel sources so that it's painless and easy.
There are two ways to do it.
You can jump right in,
Or you can do it very gently,
Easy,
Pain free.
Either way works.
Either way gets you to fasting for health and weight loss.
I started this four years ago,
And I have never stopped.
And I lost more than 20 some pounds and 17 inches of fluff all over my body.
And I continue to reap added health benefits from it every day.
And I have never been hungry again,
Like I used to be before I learned how to access the other fuel sources in my body.
So come back for part two,
The No Sweat Insider's Guide to Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss and Health.
This is Jackie.
