Transcript

Welcome to this guided meditation on patience and acceptance of the present moment.

Find a comfortable position either sitting or laying down and gently close your eyes if that feels appropriate for you today and let's begin.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth.

Inhale through your nose and exhale out.

Take one more breath together.

Inhale and exhale out.

Allow your body to relax and release any tension it may be holding at this time.

Take a moment to observe your breath without trying to change it.

Just noticing the sensation of each inhale and exhale.

Now bring your attention to the present moment.

Allow any thoughts or worries to gently float away and shift your focus to the sensations in your own body.

Notice any areas of tension or discomfort and simply observe them without any judgment.

As you continue to breathe imagine a soft warm light surrounding your entire body.

This light represents patience and acceptance.

Visualize this light entering through the top of your head and slowly flowing down through your entire body reaching every cell.

With each breath feel this light expanding within you bringing a sense of calm and tranquility and as you exhale imagine any impatience or resistance leaving your body allowing space for acceptance.

Now bring your mind to a specific situation that you might find challenging or frustrating.

It could be something recent or a recurring issue but without getting caught up in the details simply observe any emotions that arise without judgment.

Allow them to be present accepting that they are a natural part of your experience.

As you continue to breathe imagine yourself stepping back from the situation gaining a broader perspective.

See it as an opportunity for growth for learning and for self-discovery.

Remind yourself that everything is impermanent and that this too shall pass.

Now bring your attention back to the present moment and observe the sensations in your body the feeling of your breath and the stillness around you.

Allow yourself to fully embrace and accept this moment just as it is.

Take a moment to offer yourself some kind and encouraging words and I invite you to repeat silently in your mind I am patient I am accepting and I am present.

I am patient I am accepting I am present I am patient I am accepting and I am fully present.

Feel these words resonate within you allowing them to anchor you in a state of patience and acceptance.

As we come to the end of this meditation take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.

Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes gently awakening your body and when you're ready begin to open up your eyes and return to the world around you carrying that sense of patience and acceptance with you.

Remember that practicing both of these is a long life journey and by regularly incorporating meditation into your daily routine you can cultivate these qualities and experiences in a greater sense of peace and fulfillment in your life.
