The Rest Meridian helps you to feel held by the energy of the earth and sun and supports your nervous system to settle, your capacity to expand, and your body to remember what it feels like to be supported. Moving the chi in the system through the mind and the breath, this practice is healing and revitalizing.

Welcome to the rest meridian practice.

For this practice,

Find yourself in a seated,

Dignified posture with your shoulders drawn back,

Your chin slightly tucked in,

And your face relaxed.

In this meditation,

You'll be connecting deep to the core of the earth for grounding,

And to the energy in the sky for spaciousness and light.

In this moment,

Focusing on your breath,

Connecting to your breath and lengthening your breath,

Beginning by breathing in through the nose,

Filling the lower lungs,

The middle lungs,

The upper lungs,

And then holding briefly,

Exhaling all the air now with a sigh or out of the mouth.

Once all the air is expelled,

Pull the belly in ever so slightly,

And once more,

Fill the lower lungs,

The middle lungs,

And the upper lungs.

Once you've reached your capacity,

Exhale long,

Deep,

And smooth,

Continuing to breathe in this manner for a short bit to get used to focusing on expanding the lung capacity.

Getting oxygen from the lower lungs is particularly important because that energy is what feeds the brain,

So when you take a long,

Deep,

And smooth breath,

You're oxygenating your whole system,

Including your brain,

And continue to breathe in,

And then breathing out with a sigh in your own time.

As you breathe in this way,

Try to lengthen your breath,

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

If breathing in through the nose is a little bit difficult for you,

You can breathe as long and full and deep as you can,

And if you feel like you can get a little bit more air,

You can breathe in through a rounded lips or take a little sip of air through your mouth to expand and enhance your breath capacity before breathing out with a sigh or a long,

Deep breath through rounded lips.

On the next breath,

Imagining now that you have a cord of light,

Starting your next in breath at the base of your spine,

Breathing in,

And as the breath comes up,

The area in front of the spine,

Around the spine,

Which is called the Shishin,

That comes all the way up to the neck and the crown,

And then maybe take another little sip of air in,

So that the energy expands up to the crown and up to the sun,

And then exhale long,

Deep,

And smooth,

Bringing the energy all the way down through the crown,

The neck,

The spine,

And the sacrum,

All the way to the core of the earth.

You could have another little exhale here,

A little sniff or a little poof out with the mouth before you breathe in now from the base of the spine,

Inhaling up,

Up the spine,

Base of the head,

Top of the head,

Up to the sun.

As you exhale,

You're bringing the sun energy down from the sky to the crown,

To the base of the skull,

To the sacrum,

All the way down to the base,

To the earth,

To the core of the earth.

Next breath,

Breathing it in,

Taking from the core of the earth,

Up,

Up,

Until you meet the sun,

And then on the exhale,

You bring that energy down to the crown,

The base of the head,

The sacrum,

All the way down,

Following it to the core of the earth,

Continuing to breathe in this way,

Keeping your focus in your mind,

Breathing from the core of the earth,

Up to the sky,

To the sun,

And as you exhale down,

You bring that light down through the body,

All the way down,

Down,

Down to the core of the earth.

As you continue to breathe in this way,

The light energy fills your body,

Helps to dispel illness and stagnation.

You make contact with the sun,

The expansive energy of warmth,

And you bring that energy through to the body,

Through to the core of the earth,

For deep grounding,

Being held in the energy of mother earth.

Now,

Slowly,

Slowly,

Return your breath back to whatever might be a normal or regular breath for you,

And notice the effect,

The rasp meridian,

Although there's intention and focus with this practice,

The effect is that you'll be more deeply restful and relaxed,

More connected to your own essence,

Drawing on the energy of the sky and the earth,

The sun,

To support you and strengthen you,

For when you have a stronger nervous system and a stronger connection to the light,

The body can rest and relax more deeply.

As you complete this meditation now,

You might blink your eyes a few times,

Take your hands,

Wrap the palms together,

And then massage your face,

Your eyes,

Your temples,

Underneath your eyes,

Your ears,

Your earlobes.

Distribute this energy,

This life force through your system.

Feel this vibration of energy.

Thank you for being here.

Namaste.

Www.

Mooji.
