Heather Goode here.
Welcome.
As we begin today's meditation,
I'd like to spend a minute to give you the context of the Rest Meridian Meditations.
The Rest Meridian Meditation was founded in Central Mexico in a place that's built on obsidian.
Very grounding,
Healing energy that can support us to connect deep within the earth and to the energy of the sky.
The energy of spirit to support us,
To give us guidance,
And to support our intuition with knowing the right action.
So may this meditation and all these meditations support you with honing and strengthening your inner guidance for healing.
So let's begin.
Sitting tall.
Sitting tall and spinal posture is very important in these meditations because we're connecting to the energy deep within the earth and the sky energy above,
The sun in particular.
The area in front of the spine,
Called the Shashumna,
Is a central channel of energy that you're drawing up earth energy from the core of the earth,
The molten lava core of the earth,
All the way up the spine,
Out the crown chakra,
Up to the sky energy and to the sun.
And the exhalation is bringing down the sun energy through the Shashumna,
Through the body,
All the way down,
Clearing and healing,
To reach the center of the earth.
Let's begin in that way now.
As you inhale,
Sitting tall,
Shoulders draw back,
Chin draws in slightly.
Inhale,
Draw the energy as imagining you're drawing it up from the earth to the base of the spine,
Up the Shashumna to the crown of the head.
And then exhaling down,
Imagine you've made contact with the sun and the energy comes down the body,
Down,
Down,
Down,
Through the crown,
Through the spine,
The Shashumna,
To the root chakra,
And then all the way down into the earth.
So you're engaging with an alternating breath,
Where you're inhaling through the nose as you draw up.
Ensure the breath is long,
Soft and smooth.
Imagine making contact with the sun energy and then bringing that energy down.
Your goal and focus here is lengthening your breath and making it longer,
Deeper,
Wider.
And then bringing that energy of the sun down.
So much of the energy that gets to the brain comes from the lower lungs.
This is why we're focusing on this long,
Steady,
Deep breath in,
To bring new prana energy and life force into the brain.
And then as we've done that,
We're connecting with that sun energy and we're bringing healing energy down through the body and the system,
All the way to the base of the spine,
Out into the earth.
You can breathe in through the nose and then out through the mouth or with a sigh as you breathe out.
Just continuing to breathe in that way,
Right now on your own,
For another minute or two.
As you carry on now,
Inhale.
And then exhale when you need to.
Integrating in the words or the mantra.
The next inhale in,
You're going to breathe ungrounded and supported.
The next exhale out.
Fill with light.
Alternating these two energies.
Grounded and supportive on the inhale.
Fill with light and healing energy on the exhale as the energy comes down.
Ensure your spine continues to stay tall,
Chin pulls in slightly.
As you move and breathe in this way,
You're bringing fresh,
Grounded healing energy from the earth.
And you're bringing that light sun energy through the body,
Warming you.
Picking up any blockages as you're using your mind to support you.
The mind combined with the breath.
This inner discipline helps strengthen you.
Helps you connect to something bigger than yourself.
And now just soften the breath a little bit,
But still focus on that act and that intention or visualization of bringing the energy up on the inhalation and down on the exhalation.
Just relax the effort a little bit.
Become a little bit more into a meditative space.
And less of a pranayama practice.
Notice if you can sense,
Feel,
Or even imagine the energy coming up.
And down on the exhale.
The energy comes up,
I'm grounded and supported.
And the energy down,
I'm healing,
I'm healed,
And I'm safe.
Alternating this practice with these words or any other words that feel helpful for you.
You have a certain amount of time you like to practice for.
We've reached approximately nine minutes here.
You can end your meditation now,
Or you can pause the recording and continue.
I always like to end these meditations by rubbing the palms together,
Blinking the eyes open a few times.
Distributing the energy or the chi through your body and your system.
Thank you for being here.
I'd like and encourage you to see what your experience is with practicing this meditation daily.
The inner discipline to stick with one practice can be very rewarding.
Send me a note in the chat and let me know how this experience has been for you and your experience.
What you've noticed.
Namaste,
Friends.
Have a wonderful day.
