We've all heard that when one door closes, another one opens. Do you have doors that you're willing to close? Weight that you're tired of carrying? Stressors that you're ready to release? In this 36-minute (and 36-second) affirmation meditation, I will guide you through the process of relaxing into a meditative state, recognizing what you'd like to let go of or cycles you'd like to exit, letting go to open space in your heart and mind, and finally, welcoming in your next chapter of life. I've created a backing track of healing music that enhances this meditation. Use headphones for the full binaural experience. Repeat this exercise whenever you feel yourself slipping into old habits or having trouble letting go of things that no longer serve you. You'll find this especially beneficial during any pivotal point in life -- a new calendar year, a career change, a move, a birthday, the start of a new relationship, etc.

Welcome back.

Before we begin,

I just want to say I'm really glad you're here.

So many people push themselves through life without ever taking a minute to pause,

Breathe,

Or reflect and check in with their hearts.

And the fact that you've chosen to stop for a moment,

To tune in and care for yourself,

That matters.

That's important.

So let's treat this moment as a soft landing,

A place where nothing is required of you,

A place where you're safe to relax your shoulders,

Soften your breath,

And put everything down for a little while.

As you settle in,

Allow yourself to open gently,

Not to anything overwhelming,

But simply to the truth of how you're feeling right now.

If there are things weighing on you,

Pressures that you've been holding inside,

Today we're going to look at those things together,

And then we're going to let some of them go.

And when we create that space,

That new openness,

It becomes easier to welcome new possibilities,

New hope,

And new beginnings into your life.

So let's walk through this shift together.

Take a slow,

Deep breath.

Relax as you let it out.

And let's begin.

I am safe in this moment.

With every breath,

I allow my body to soften and settle.

I welcome calm into my mind.

I welcome peace into my heart.

With every breath,

I feel myself opening gently.

Right now,

I feel grounded.

In this moment,

I am supported,

Held,

And safe.

I let myself relax without needing to be anywhere else.

I acknowledge the weight that I've been carrying.

I see the responsibilities that have been pressing on me.

I'm taking time now to recognize the stress that I've been trying to manage alone.

I am ready to see fully the places in my life that have felt overwhelming.

I honor the effort that I've been giving.

I allow myself to notice what has been taking up space in my mind.

Right now,

I'm ready to be honest with myself about what's been draining me.

I recognize the expectations that I don't have to meet anymore.

There are worries that are not mine to hold.

Right now,

I prepare to let those worries go.

I notice my own patterns that are ready to be released.

Gently now,

I identify what is weighing me down.

I relax as I realize that I am allowed to let certain things go.

I understand that releasing pressure is a form of self-respect.

I am ready to love myself.

I give myself full permission to let go.

I am allowed to reflect.

I am allowed to step back from what exhausts me.

I am allowed to outgrow old versions of myself.

Right now,

I allow myself to prioritize my well-being.

I am allowed to choose peace over pressure.

I am allowed to create space for something better to come into my life.

I allow myself to let go.

Be specific in your mind now.

Reflect on the past days,

Weeks,

Months,

Maybe years of your life.

What cycles do you need to be released from?

What responsibilities could you let go of?

I am fully allowed to let go.

I exhale the weight that I've been carrying.

I release what I no longer need.

I let go of fear that's been living in my body.

With every deep breath,

I let go of pressure I placed on myself.

Right now,

I let go of other people's expectations.

I let go of the belief that I must do everything alone.

I let go of urgency,

Tension,

And overwhelm.

With every exhale,

I let go of fear that I placed on myself.

Right now,

I am making room for stillness and clarity.

Right now,

I'm clearing up space within my heart that can be filled with something better.

With the space that I created,

I welcome fresh possibilities.

With every deep inhale,

I open myself to experiences that will uplift and inspire me.

I am receptive to what feels aligned and meaningful to me.

I feel ready to welcome new opportunities with curiosity.

I trust that good things can find me.

With every breath,

I allow hope to enter the space that release has created.

With every breath,

I feel the courage to step into the unknown.

I am open to paths I haven't considered yet.

I invite new beginnings into my life with ease.

Now,

With this new openness,

This new space in your mind and in your heart,

I want you to imagine a beautiful future.

Imagine waking up in this new beautiful future.

Where are you?

Why are you excited for the day in this imagined future?

What are you about to do in this imagined future?

Imagine a life that feels so good that you can't wait to live the next day.

I smile now when I imagine the beautiful future that's ahead of me.

I trust my ability to create a life that feels right.

I look forward to the future with softness and confidence.

I recognize that in order to enjoy this beautiful future,

I have to step out of what I've been used to.

I'm so grateful that I'm capable of growth,

Change,

And transformation.

I am excited for the chapter of my life that comes next.

With every breath,

I welcome joy and love into my future.

With every deep inhale,

I welcome possibility into the days ahead.

When I think of my future self,

I think of a version of myself that is thriving.

Right now,

I allow myself to move gently toward that future.

I feel the shift within me.

I've let go of the old weight.

I know I have released what no longer belongs in my life.

I feel myself now lighter,

Clearer,

And fully open.

My heart feels spacious and free.

My mind has room to breathe again.

What held me back is something I no longer carry.

I am resourceful,

And I know I can always create space for peace to live in me.

I trust the emptiness I've created.

I've turned it into a sacred space for beauty.

The pressure has lifted,

And I am finally free to move forward toward something new.

I have stepped out of the heaviness that once surrounded me.

I feel the truth of my own transformation settling in now.

I have let go,

And the space I've created is a gift that I offer to my future.

I am open,

Ready,

And fully available to receive good things.

I breathe deeply into the new clarity within me.

I honor the release I've allowed myself to experience today.

I feel the truth of my own transformation settling in.

I trust that what comes next will meet me in this openness.

My eyes are open and ready to recognize beautiful opportunities that come my way.

The space that I've made in my heart is ready to be filled with unburdened peace and hope.

I step into the next chapter of my life with confidence.

Take a few more deep breaths as you let the space begin to feel more comfortable and enjoyable in your body,

Mind,

And heart.

You've released so much.

We have strong habits,

Don't we?

You'll be tempted to jump back into old cycles.

You'll be tempted to return to what you've been used to,

Even if that's not what you want for your future self.

Stay conscious of this so that you can move forward into a new chapter,

So that you can fill the space that we created today with something more beautiful and more enjoyable.

Letting go is bittersweet,

It's beautiful,

And it can be difficult.

If you find yourself slipping back into old cycles,

You can always repeat this exercise of letting go,

Opening up that space in your heart and mind once again.

Opening your eyes to new,

Beautiful opportunities that can lead you toward your future life,

And letting go once again.

I recommend repeating this at any pivotal moment in your life.

Maybe a birthday,

Maybe a new year is coming.

Maybe a new job,

Or a big move.

All of these things can be pivotal moments where it's time to let go and open yourself up to new opportunities.
