Welcome,

Dear one.

In a moment,

You'll be guided through a meditation that supports you as a mom to feel good about your role in motherhood and who you are,

Honoring your story.

So take a moment to settle your body,

And settle your mind.

Let's begin,

Taking a deep breath in,

And then letting it whoosh out of your body.

Continuing to breathe deeply like this,

Letting the breath symbolize everything you need to take in and would like to embrace,

And then letting go of everything that needs to be released.

So breathing in life,

Love,

Self-care.

Breathing out fear,

Guilt,

Self-judgment.

Breathing in,

Feeling the air fill every corner of your being.

And breathing out and away tension.

Feeling the breath now fill the space of your head.

Relaxing the muscles in your cheeks,

Unknitting your eyebrows,

And letting your eyelids gently close.

Feeling your jaw relax down,

And with it tension releasing.

Then feeling the air fill the space around your neck,

And feeling your shoulders drop down.

Letting yourself deeper and deeper in total relaxation,

And again letting that air whoosh like a wave down your neck into your back.

Your shoulders and arms becoming heavy and dropping away from your ears.

Your chest releasing any tightness,

All the muscles relaxing.

Feeling your body sink deeper and deeper into relaxation.

And then feeling that air fill your lungs,

Your abdomen,

Your belly.

Feeling the life that that gives you,

The sense of fullness,

Wholeness.

And then letting it come back out again,

Giving away anything that is no longer helpful.

And feeling the air continue to move like a wave down your back,

Into your legs,

Your knees,

Your shins,

And your feet.

And as the air goes out your feet you feel yourself so fully supported,

Safe,

Connected.

Your whole body now is in a state of total peace.

This is a time for your thinking mind to rest,

And your intuitive sensing mind to be fully attuned.

Give yourself permission right now to let go and simply sense with your inner awareness.

Your subconscious mind is fully attuned right now.

That's right,

Very good.

And now with your intuition attuned and in charge,

Journey in your imagination to a tranquil beach with beautiful waves crashing on the shore.

It is quiet and so peaceful here.

This is a place where you can feel completely safe and calm.

There's nowhere to be,

Nothing that needs doing.

You can simply be and rest here.

Imagine the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore,

The feeling of the warm sun on your cheek,

The soft sand between your toes.

Now focus your attention on the water.

Notice the quality of the waves,

Whether they are subtle or powerful.

Whatever they are,

Embrace them.

Sometimes in motherhood,

The waves may seem stronger than we can handle.

And yet,

We remain.

Like the beach,

We shift,

But we are not completely washed away.

As you watch the waves crash and recede,

Imagine them taking away with them any fear,

Doubt or self-judgment.

With each wave,

You feel more and more free from any negative emotion.

With this next cycle of ebbing and flowing waves,

Focus first on fear.

As the wave crashes in front of you in all its might,

Release into it your worries about anything that has happened or might happen.

Release anxiety,

Watching it swallowed up by the water.

In its wake,

Allow yourself to be fully enveloped by a feeling of safety,

Security and a deep sense that you have everything you need.

Feel that abundance wash over you now.

And you feel trust growing more and more with each wave that follows.

Next focus on self-judgment.

As you watch the next wave crashing down in front of you,

Imagine it enveloping any harsh judgments about yourself,

Any guilt you feel.

It fades away those feelings and leaves in its wake self-love and compassion.

You feel love for your story and who you're growing to be.

This feeling of self-compassion grows more and more with each wave that follows.

Finally,

Focus on doubt.

As you watch the next wave crashing down in front of you,

Imagine it enveloping any self-doubt about your abilities as a mom,

Taking away that feeling of not enough and leaving in its wake a feeling of assurance in your abilities.

That you are exactly the mom your child needs.

You brought this baby into this world and you have within you everything you need to nurture this baby.

Confidence grows more and more with each wave that follows.

Now,

Turn your attention to the sandy shore.

Feel your feet firmly planted in the sand beneath you,

Confidence in your sense of belonging multiplying exponentially.

You belong and have a special place on this earth,

In your family,

And as a mother.

Now watch the waves become small,

Then still,

Until the water is like clear glass.

Perfectly still and peaceful.

Feel in you a sense of calm growing.

Drift deeper and deeper still into that perfectly relaxed state as you stare out onto the water.

Watch the water,

If you have not already done so,

So that you are standing in the shallow water.

Feel the warm water gently circling your ankles and legs,

Enveloping them in pure relaxation.

The water soothes your soul.

In a moment,

You'll be looking down into a reflection of yourself.

Before you do so,

Remember and carry with you the knowledge that you have released fear,

And self-doubt,

And self-judgment.

You will be looking at yourself with love and self-compassion.

Now crouch down to look closely at the water.

See yourself looking back at you.

Notice the sunshine sparkle on your hair.

See the beautiful calm blue of the water reflected in your gaze.

Now look deeper to your soul.

Notice in the image of yourself wisdom and growth.

Now look at yourself with the deepest compassion,

Reminding yourself that you are still learning and growing.

Take a moment to honor your story and who you are becoming.

What else do you notice as you look at your reflection?

Now still gazing at your reflection,

See yourself as your child sees you.

Let your reflection gently mold into the shape of that image,

A picture of joy and delight from your child's perspective.

You are so important to your child,

And so loved by them.

What is beautiful about you now?

What is strong in you?

See what your child sees right now.

You are called to love.

It is your highest,

Most challenging calling.

Your child needs your love above all else.

It is hard,

And you can do it.

Feel confident that the wellspring of self love and compassion can carry you through anything you will face in the days,

Weeks,

And months ahead.

You have enough love to give.

To give to yourself,

And to give to your child.

And now it is time to leave this peaceful place,

But you leave confident that you are taking with you a sense of self compassion and confidence in your mothering.

You know that you have everything you need to grow and become the mom your family needs.

You can take with you any images that give you a feeling of assurance,

And release anything that is simply not helpful.

Whatever struck you most will remain imprinted in your mind.

When you see anything that reminds you of those images from your time in this reflection,

You will be reminded of those same feelings of confidence,

Assurance,

And love.

So when you are ready,

Begin to focus back on your breathing.

Taking a few deep breaths in and out,

Bringing energy and awareness back into your body,

Into the way your body is supported on whatever you are resting on.

Hearing the sounds in the room around you,

Wiggling your fingers and toes.

And whenever you are ready,

Open your eyes.
