Welcome to this gratitude meditation.
Today we are going to focus on gratitude.
It's taking time to acknowledge the things we are grateful for.
It allows us to feel a sense of joy.
It's a reminder of all that we have or have had.
And this then sets us up for receiving,
To move into a state of expansion,
Or simply to receive a deeper sense of happiness and peace.
So just finding yourself in a comfortable position.
You may like to be seated or sitting down.
Just allowing your body to soften.
And I'd like you to begin by taking in a deep breath into the lungs and release.
So what is it that you are grateful for?
And how often do you stop in the moment to acknowledge your gratitude for each of these things?
Perhaps you're grateful for your health,
Your body,
Your movement,
Your breath,
Your fertility,
Immunity,
Your cognition.
Maybe it's your five senses,
Your sight,
Hearing,
Your voice,
Your sense of touch,
Or taste,
Or smell.
Maybe you're grateful for your home,
Your family,
Relationships,
Your friendships,
Maybe a pet.
Perhaps you're grateful for money,
A career,
A hobby,
Travel.
Perhaps you feel gratitude for the earth,
Nature,
The seasons,
The stars.
Maybe there's something a little naughty that you'd like to express gratitude for.
Something like wine,
Unhealthy food,
Chocolate.
Perhaps it's something materialistic and that's okay too.
Maybe there's something I've mentioned that you feel might have failed you.
Perhaps maybe something that did not serve you well,
That once was challenging,
But now you have a sense of clarity over.
Maybe this thing has brought you some wisdom or understanding that perhaps you can be grateful for that.
Maybe it guided you to a new person or opportunity.
Just sit now and think of maybe some of the things that I may not have mentioned.
Just savoring this moment of gratitude.
Perhaps some of these things you can bring into a ritual into your life.
It may be food you enjoy that you can mindfully eat.
Really taking time to think about the flavors and textures that you experience while you eat this.
Maybe just pausing for moments throughout your day when you're in a place that you love.
I'd just like to invite you to drop back into your body now.
Thank you for joining me on this meditation.
I hope you can carry this sense of gratitude with you throughout your day.
Take care.
