Welcome to this inner winter meditation for women.

This meditation is a guided practice for those who are experiencing their bleed,

The menstrual cycle,

And this is a time when we are in our inner winter.

So just taking a moment to arrive into your body and to allow yourself to soften and relax.

And so we're going to start by getting ourselves in a comfortable position.

One that you can soften into for the next few minutes.

Now I invite you to lower your gaze or close your eyes.

Just taking in a nice deep breath and release.

Notice how are you feeling today?

Are you feeling fatigue,

Feeling heaviness anywhere?

Maybe you're feeling the heaviness of your bleed,

You may have pain or aches or discomfort.

Just taking in another deep inhale and on the exhale,

Just really allow your body to soften.

Our inner winter and our time where we are bleeding is a time where we are invited to rest,

Where our energy may not allow us to move in the way that we usually would.

Maybe you feel more tired.

And this is a time when our body is telling us to slow down,

To retreat.

Just taking in another deep inhale and sighing that out.

Winter is a time of dormancy.

It's a time where we tend to hibernate,

To not overexert ourselves.

And when our body is wintering,

We're encouraged to find rest and stillness.

Which in a very fast paced world can be very challenging for us.

Sometimes we feel into that pressure to perform and to exert ourselves.

And we sometimes go against the grain,

We push ourselves too hard.

And for many of us,

That can leave us feeling more pain and more tiredness.

Just take this time now to observe and check in with you,

Your energy,

Your flow.

What thoughts are arising for you?

Do you feel peaceful?

Do you feel anxious?

Are you doing too much right now?

Are you honoring yourself?

Our ancestors saw this time as a sacred time,

A time that we honor and we rest,

A time to see what shows up for us,

What thoughts arise,

Creative ideas and inspiration.

Our womb is seen as a sacred portal,

A place of creation.

And when we experience our bleed,

It's a time for us to step back and allow these layers to shed so we can begin a brand new cycle.

And I'd just like you to take a moment now to observe what might be showing for you at this time,

What is ready to let go of,

What space are you opening up,

What creative ideas might be dropping into your mind right now?

Just taking time,

You may want to place one hand on your heart and one hand on your womb space.

It may feel nice for you to place both hands on your womb space.

You may wish to rub your hands together to create heat.

Maybe your feelings of discomfort and pain,

The heat can be very soothing for you.

And then placing that back on your body,

Wherever feels good.

Just taking this time now to observe.

What is your womb saying to you?

What are you ready to let fall away?

The space is ready to open up.

You may be a few days into your bleed.

You may be at that point where winter is beginning to turn to spring.

Where your energy levels are beginning to rise again.

Maybe the pain has dissipated and maybe your bleed has got lighter.

Just observe how you've been feeling over the past few days,

If that is the case.

Or your mind wondering.

You may feel thoughts rising about things that you want to do.

When you begin to feel a bit more energy and a bit better.

You may be contemplating your spring.

And just taking in another deep breath into your womb space.

And releasing.

Taking time for yourself,

Especially during this time,

Is very important.

It's important that your body rests.

Especially while you are bleeding,

Your body needs that rest.

And so I'd just like you to send yourself some gratitude for taking a few moments today for this practice.

To check in with yourself and to rest your body.

And just taking in another deep inhale.

And just allowing yourself to arrive back into your body.

And softening on the exhale.

And just know that any time that you feel like you need to take a few moments to restore some energy.

That you can come back to this meditation at any time.

That you can check in with yourself at any time to see what it is you need.

Maybe if you have waves of anxiety,

You might want to come back and allow yourself to process.

And just taking another deep breath in.

Thank you for joining me on this meditation today.

And I wish you all the best with your day.

Take care.
