Your state of mind is not a coincidence.
How healthy your body is,
Is not a coincidence.
Both of them are results and reflections of how much time,
Energy and money you spend on your health.
You cannot expect to be a healthy individual who constantly develops and matures without making an effort and without spending money on yourself.
Being healthy is not a coincidence.
Being healthy is a choice.
So today we will look at your value chain.
We will find out where health is on your list of importance.
You will understand that spending time,
Energy and money on a healthy lifestyle is not optional if you want to live a happy and balanced life and if you want to grow and mature.
Our goal is for you to become more conscious of your specific needs around health so that you can prevent getting sick or developing chronic diseases.
An Arabian proverb says,
He who has health has hope and she who has hope has everything.
Let's try and have everything today.
First of all,
I want to congratulate you and tell you that you can be proud of yourself.
You made it this far in the course,
So you are already spending time,
Energy and money on your health.
This is a very good sign of your ability to create ongoing great health and personal growth.
Your attitude is already on the right path and I'm very happy for you.
Now the first point I want to make today is that if you don't spend time,
Energy and money on health,
Then you will spend time,
Energy and money on illness.
Illness is a form of imbalance and it is not something that just happens to you.
Illness,
Just like balance,
Is something that you create.
This might not have been true 10,
But it is definitely true in a modern environment with overabundance in nutrition and sensory stimulations.
These modern environments actually often make you sick automatically as they are unnatural environments.
For example,
Being awake late or eating heavily processed foods.
To counter that,
You need to consciously spend time,
Money and energy on balancing yourself.
I would argue that it is not possible for anyone living in modern society to be healthy without being proactive.
So accept that in order to be healthy,
You need to be proactive.
Let us have a look at why it is worth it to spend money,
Time and energy on health.
Let us say that when you are in a healthy and balanced state,
Your capacity to be productive is at 100%.
If you are slightly unbalanced,
Maybe you are at 90%.
You are already losing out a bit.
Now imagine that on average you are at 60% and you get symptomatically sick for a week every two months.
Now what amount of money,
Time and energy do you have to spend to be around 90% on average?
Is that more money,
Time and energy than you would lose out from being unbalanced and thus unproductive?
I would argue that consciously spending money,
Time and energy on health will not only improve your life drastically,
It is also cheaper in the long run.
Next,
I want to talk about the mental effect of spending money consciously.
You have an internal value system and the things you value most,
You spend the most money on.
Maybe you value cars or bikes or nice furniture,
Holidays or sneakers or anything else for that matter.
Whatever you value,
You will spend money on and vice versa.
If you spend a lot of money on a diamond,
Which is actually just a little piece of rock,
Then you will value it a lot.
If I give you a fantastic looking shiny piece of rock from my garden,
You will not value it as much because it did not cost as much.
Both rocks have the same function though,
They both give you pleasure by looking at them.
So,
What does this value system mean for you and your health?
It means that the more money you spend on something,
The more you value it.
This means that when you do spend money on health,
The importance of health goes up in your value chain.
Automatically,
You will be a whole lot more committed to increasing your health,
Because otherwise you would betray your value system.
Now I want to give you an example.
Let us imagine that this course would have cost you $20,
000.
Go along with it,
Even if it's unrealistic.
Just imagine you would have spent an insane amount of money on this course.
Would you be more or less motivated to finish it?
You would absolutely make sure you do this course properly.
You would make sure you get the most value out of it,
Because you put a lot of value into it already.
The opposite would happen if I were to have given this course to you for free.
Then it would be a whole lot harder for you to finish the course and to get value out of it.
You would not value the course content automatically.
It is of course possible,
But it is definitely harder.
So make sure you spend money on your health,
Because you will automatically value your health more.
Now let us break down the four main areas that you are spending time,
Energy and money on.
They are basic necessities,
Materialistic possessions,
Fun experiences and health.
Of course a fun experience can also be a healthy one and basic necessities can also increase your health.
There are overlaps of course,
But let's run with these four different areas for now.
Now I would argue that basic necessities are the most important things to spend money on.
Your housing,
Food,
Water,
Electricity,
Transportation,
All of these things are the most important.
But what comes after your basic necessities?
Are you prioritizing spending money on experiences like trips and fun activities?
Or are you spending your money on material possessions like a nice car,
Beautiful furniture,
Jewelry and so on?
Or are you prioritizing spending your second biggest amount of money on health?
Spending money on health could be things like nutritionists,
Massages,
Gym memberships,
High quality food,
Supplements,
Therapists,
The list goes on.
So with basic necessities being the priority,
Should health be your number two?
So here is my case on why it should be number two.
Biggest reason is that you will be able to enjoy all other areas of life a whole lot more.
The enjoyment you can have with your fun experiences and also with your material possessions goes up infinitely when you are a healthy and balanced person.
Imagine you are at a super fun amusement park,
But you are feeling sluggish and you have stomach cramps.
Is that amusement park experience worth it?
Absolutely not.
You also can't enjoy driving a nice car with a headache.
Spending time,
Money and energy on health allows for all other areas of life to be enjoyed with way more pleasure.
Now I want to mention that you are setting yourself up for the future by investing in your health today.
The older you become,
The more you risk having health issues.
So even if you are healthy and you are saying I don't need this now,
Setting yourself up for long term health is worth it.
You don't want to have to deal with health problems later on.
Invest in your health now and you will avoid repercussions later.
Before we come to the end,
Let me give you some food for thought as to which areas you can spend time,
Energy and money on in order to increase your health.
The first that comes to mind is physical exercise.
Even if you just go running,
Look at what shoes and clothing will serve you the best no matter the price.
Spend money on your physical exercise so that you will value your time for exercise.
The next big area to spend money on is nutrition.
The more money,
Time and energy you spend on your food,
The more you will value it and the more you will be conscious of it.
When it comes to the effect on your body,
There is a huge difference between a fast food meal and a home cooked organic stew.
Next,
Spending time,
Energy and money on your mental health is also fundamental.
You think you don't have time to attend a 10 day Vipassana meditation?
How much time every day are you wasting because you are unfocused?
Does that time accumulate to 10 days during a year or 2 years or 3 years?
You can afford to spend time on your mental health.
Your balanced mind will also be thankful.
