Hello and welcome to this short meditation to help you heal through divorce.
First find a quiet place where you will be undisturbed for the next few minutes.
You can either sit or lie down comfortably,
Whatever your body and soul feel called to do.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible,
Whether you're sitting or lying down.
And if it feels safe,
Close your eyes or at least gently let your eyelids drop so that you have a soft focus.
Allow your hands to rest loosely and all of the muscles in your body to relax.
And just take a deep breath in and then let it go with a gentle sigh.
Just allowing yourself to arrive in this space.
There's nothing to do right now in this moment.
You don't have to fix anything.
You are safe here.
Divorce can feel like the ground beneath you has shifted.
Divorce can bring many difficult emotions like grief,
Confusion,
Loneliness,
Resentment.
You may feel angry,
Fearful.
Maybe you even feel relief and enlightening.
There is no one right way to feel.
So in this moment just allow yourself to simply be with whatever is here.
You are allowed to grieve.
You are allowed to feel lost.
You are allowed to feel tired,
Exhausted,
Overwhelmed.
Whatever you're feeling,
It's all okay.
So either whisper or speak aloud or silently say to yourself,
I am feeling pain and that's okay.
My heart is healing.
And remember that acknowledging our pain is not weakness.
It's the beginning of healing.
There's only one way through it and it's how we move through it,
Not around it,
Not trying to avoid it,
Not trying to avoid what hurts.
That's what matters.
And now take a deep breath in and slowly let it out.
Bringing one hand gently to your heart center,
Just connect in with your heart.
Allow yourself to feel whatever comes up for you.
Feel the life pulsing through you.
And remember that no matter how heavy things might feel right now,
You are still worthy.
You are lovable.
You are still whole.
This experience doesn't define you.
It doesn't define your worth.
It is simply something you are moving through.
It's not who or what you are.
Your inherent value is not dependent on any relationship.
You were worthy before this and during it and you are worthy still and forever.
And as you continue to sit,
Lie,
And relax,
Bring to mind the version of yourself who is just one step beyond this moment.
It doesn't need to be the chapter,
But just the next paragraph.
The version of you who has grown,
Who has learned something through the experience,
Who is now standing a little taller,
Who has deepened in wisdom and softness.
The version of you that is taking better care of themselves,
One breath,
One step at a time.
And as you call that version of yourself,
Your future self,
To mind,
Turn inward and ask yourself gently,
What is one small step I can take toward healing?
Perhaps reaching out to somebody you trust for support,
Perhaps a walk in nature,
Or maybe it's simply being kinder to yourself today.
Whatever it is,
See it clearly,
Feel yourself moving toward it,
Calm,
Grounded,
And intentional.
You don't need to see the whole path,
As Martin Luther King famously said.
You don't need to see this whole staircase,
Just take one next step in faith.
Breathe in deeply one more time and as you exhale,
Feel yourself growing a little bit stronger,
A little bit more.
And repeat the following either out loud or silently to yourself in your heart.
I have permission to grieve and still grow.
I trust in my ability to heal.
I am resilient.
I can do challenging things.
This chapter 2 is part of my becoming.
There is love and beauty in my future.
Remember,
You are not broken,
You are becoming.
And as this meditation comes to a close,
Place both hands on your heart,
Breathe into that space,
Feel the warmth of your own presence.
This is where healing begins from the inside out.
May you walk forward with courage even when the path may feel unclear.
May you treat yourself with compassion and patience.
May you remember that growth often blooms through challenge.
And may you trust deeply that your story is not over.
And when you're ready,
Take a final deep breath in and exhale gently and open your eyes.
