Allowing that breath to be a bridge from the external world into your internal world.
Inviting breath to calm the activity of the mind by gently bringing focus to the flow of the inhale and exhale.
Inviting any thoughts related to your to-do list or the activities of your day to have permission to relax for this time.
Knowing you can bring your attention back to those thoughts after this exploration.
For now,
Perhaps the rhythm of the breath can calm and relax the everyday activity of the mind.
As the breath flows inward,
Sensing that connection to any flow of self-energy that is naturally present.
Perhaps breath allowing some spaciousness for curiosity about your internal world.
Perhaps breath supporting that desire to connect more deeply to your parts,
More deeply into your internal world.
Connecting to any self-energy that is naturally there.
And of course,
I now invite any parts that want to be around for this exploration today that want to listen to please join,
Knowing that parts can come and go as they please during this time.
And as we all gather together,
I invite your internal world on an exploration today.
I invite you to consider the perspective that perhaps one way you can enhance the experience of self-energy within your being is through connection with your parts.
Often we carry the notion that parts need to give us space or step back in order to connect with self-energy.
This may be the case at times.
However,
Today,
I invite you to explore the perspective that each of your parts are not only well-intentioned and trying to help you,
But that they're able to do what they do because they have essential qualities that we need.
That these essential qualities are qualities of self.
Each of our parts contains self-energy.
In recognizing this,
You can unlock an abundant flow of your self-energy.
Breathing with this perspective for a moment.
For example,
Perhaps you have manager parts that are highly confident that their way of doing things is the correct way of doing things.
They may be certain that their way is the best way.
Whether your system agrees with what they think is best,
They can be quite confident in the manner in which they take care of you by managing things in your life.
Or for another example,
Perhaps you have a self-critical part.
I know it can be hard to imagine that a self-critical part can have self-energy.
However,
It is often the case that these critical parts are quite persistent when they are around.
Perhaps you have experienced this persistence of a self-critical part.
Sometimes they just keep going relentlessly.
While of course those hurtful messages aren't helpful,
I invite you in this moment to acknowledge the self-quality of persistence that this type of part possesses.
Just for now,
Recognizing the persistence of the part rather than focusing on the content of the messages.
In whatever way these examples resonate with you,
The confidence that some parts have that their way is the right way,
Or the sometimes brutal persistence of other parts like self-critical parts,
I invite you now to intend for your breath to move towards these parts.
Each inhale,
Lighting up the quality of self contained in those parts.
Lighting the self-energy up like a star in the sky.
And perhaps with each exhale,
A spark of that self-energy can flow from the part and join the larger flow of self-energy moving with the breath throughout your body.
Being with this experience in whatever way it is happening for you.
Intending for the breath to light up that self-quality in each part on the inhale,
And joining the larger flow of self-energy along the breath through the body on the exhale.
Perhaps other parts may begin to share with you the different self-qualities they possess.
Practicing openness and curiosity as this happens.
Perhaps you have angry parts inside.
Often angry parts have the courage to say what others are scared to say.
Often angry parts see truth,
See injustice with a clarity that others do not possess.
That clarity,
That courage,
These are profoundly important capacities.
Perhaps you have mischievous parts or artistic parts or fantasizing parts.
These parts are often very creative in how they contribute to your system.
Many parts rely deeply on creativity in how they show up for you.
Intending for the breath to light up that self-quality in each part on the inhale,
And joining the larger flow of self-energy moving along the breath through your body on the exhale.
Perhaps you have empathic parts that are pained by the suffering happening in the world,
So much so that it can be overwhelming for these parts they're so empathic.
Interwoven within that empathy is deep,
Deep compassion.
Perhaps you have younger parts or goofy,
Funny,
Jokester parts or even sensual parts that like to be playful.
Intending for the breath to light up that self-quality in each part on the inhale,
And joining the larger flow of self-energy moving along the breath through your body on the exhale.
Trusting your parts to show you the gifts of their self-energy in their own unique ways.
Being present and patient with the experience however it is happening for you.
Trusting that whatever experience you are having is exactly as it is meant to be for you today.
Inhaling,
Connecting,
Brightening up that self-quality in each part,
And allowing it to flow into the larger flow of self along the exhale.
As different parts share with you,
Being with the experience in totality of all these bright spots of energy all throughout your system.
Uniquely contained in each part and also flowing,
Joining together,
Creating this larger self-experience.
Being with this totality in whatever way it is happening for you in this moment.
Each part,
A unique carrier of self-qualities,
And those essential qualities joining a flow beyond each part.
Collaboratively contributing to your dynamic,
Unique presence of self.
And as you inhale,
Allowing yourself to be present in this flow of self-energy.
Taking a few moments now to extend any genuine appreciation you have for the gifts of your internal system.
Perhaps you can stay connected to this flow of self-energy through and among your parts as you allow the breath to now bring you back into external connection as well.
As you breathe into the room,
Into the physical space that you're in right now.
Noticing where your body is in contact with cushions,
Furniture,
The floor.
Eventually opening your eyes if you've chosen to close them,
Reorienting back into your external environment.
