Hello everyone.
Welcome to part two of this new moon in Libra.
This is our guided meditation to Maat.
For this meditation,
I invite you to lie down if that's available.
We are going to take a journey to Maat to go through a cycle of death,
Truth,
And rebirth.
And often for this sort of journey,
People receive better when you're able to lie down and be in complete rest and complete stillness.
If that is not available,
Then coming into a comfortable seated position and we will begin.
We begin by finding stillness and allowing your breath to soften.
Let your body settle,
Feeling yourself held on the surface that you're sitting or lying on,
Allowing your eyes to gently close.
Taking three deep breaths,
Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth,
Letting go of anything that you're holding on to,
Preparing to descend,
Not into darkness,
But into truth.
I'm going to count backwards from five to one.
And as I do,
I invite you to turn your attention inward,
Allowing the outer world to fade away.
The outer world begins to fade.
You feel the edges of your body soften.
Your breath becomes your anchor.
Four,
A gentle wind begins to move through you.
It carries the scent of myrrh and desert stone.
You are safe and you are held.
Three,
The veil between worlds begins to thin.
You begin to notice golden strands of light.
Two,
You feel yourself growing even more heavy,
Landing even more fully into this moment.
One,
You cast yourself out into the sands of Egypt,
Standing on the golden sands,
Feeling the warmth beneath your feet.
The sky above you is vast and ancient.
There are birds circling overhead.
The sun is low and it casts long shadows across the dunes.
In the distance,
You notice a temple made of white stone.
You walk towards it.
And as you do,
You begin to notice that there are columns on either side of the entrance,
These ancient hieroglyphs.
You notice a feather over the entrance,
And you know that you are standing at the entrance of Maat's temple.
As you stand at this entrance,
You ask for permission to enter.
And you wait for a sign.
Once granted access,
You step inside.
The temple is lit with flames and torches.
There's a river running down the middle.
You pause to cleanse your hands in its stream,
Feeling the cool water.
You rise and journey deeper into this temple.
As you walk further in,
You see ahead of you a tall,
Radiant,
Serene figure with a single white feather resting atop her crown.
Her eyes are mirrors and her voice is like the wind.
And in front of her are these ancient,
Golden scales.
You know that you are looking at Maat.
She speaks and she asks you,
What do you carry?
You feel the weight of your heart in your chest.
You listen intently to the sound of your own soul as it names,
Feels,
Senses what it is that you are carrying.
She reaches her hand inside of your chest and grabs your heart,
Pulling it from you and placing it on one side of her scale.
On the other side,
She lifts the feather from her crown and lies it on the scale.
There is silence,
And then she nods.
You are seen,
You are measured,
And you are ready.
She motions to the scale as you observe your heart and her feather.
She nods and with that nod,
Your heart returns to your chest,
Her feather returns to her crown,
And she turns,
Motioning for you to follow her.
You descend deeper and deeper into the cave,
Into the temple,
Into a center chamber.
It is cool,
Dark,
And sacred.
The room is very dimly lit,
And there are figures of the Egyptian pantheon all around,
And in the middle of this chamber lies a linen-wrapped figure.
You know that this is the part of you that is ready to be laid to rest.
You walk over and kneel beside it.
This is the version that has clung to you,
And in this moment you can see it fully,
Outside of yourself,
Separate from the version of you that you are now.
Sacred rites must be performed to allow for the complete disillusion.
One of the guides from within the cave hands you a bottle of anointing oil.
You place them on the ring finger of your left hand,
Because that is the finger that is closest associated to your heart.
And as you do,
You can smell the myrrh,
And the frankincense,
And the lotus.
You hold it to your nose and you breathe deeply,
Allowing for these ancient,
Sacred smells to fill the room and to fill your soul.
And then you take the anointing oil and you place it on the brow of the linen-wrapped figure before you.
You close your eyes and you speak a final blessing.
Go in peace.
Go in truth.
I let you go in light and love.
You take a final moment here,
Giving full reverence,
Saying blessings and gratitude for all the lessons that have been shared between you and this part of you that is now ready to be released.
And when you are ready,
You gently rise.
Maat ushers you out of the chamber,
And in this moment,
You pause before exiting.
For you know that once you step across the threshold,
Your time of mourning is over,
And it is time to rise.
You take one final pause,
One final breath.
Maat guides you out of the back of her temple,
And as you step out,
You are now blessed with the dawn of the rising sun.
It is gold and bright and vibrant.
You hear the birds in the distance returning.
Your body feels light,
Clear,
And true.
Maat stands beside of you,
And she takes a feather and places it in your hand,
And she reminds you to walk this new path,
To speak in truth,
To allow the flame of your becoming to light your way and to live in balance.
You bow to her,
Taking a moment to express your gratitude to her,
To yourself,
And to this lesson.
You turn to gaze at the rising sun once more,
And as you do,
Maat is gone.
You walk towards the sun and gently back into your body,
Into this space.
You feel yourself land.
You have journeyed through truth.
You have been weighed,
And you have been reborn.
When you are ready,
I invite you to open your eyes to come back to this moment,
Bringing the feather with you,
And any gifts and messages that you received.
Welcome back.
After a journey like this,
It is important to take time to write down anything that you received.
I thank you so,
So much for joining this evening,
And if you have any questions,
Please do not hesitate to reach out,
And I will see you again on the full moon.
Thank you all so,
So much.
Blessed Be.
