You are not your worries.
You are the sky.
Take a comfortable seat in a place that's quiet and free from distractions.
Close your eyes and sit up just a little bit taller.
With your chin neutral,
Lift the crown of your head towards the sky.
At the same time,
Drop your shoulders and soften your belly and feel the weight of your body sink into your hips.
Breathe slowly,
Patiently,
And evenly in and out through your nose.
Let the length of each exhale be at least as long as the length of the inhale.
Settle in on a breath that is quiet,
Comfortable,
And easy.
As you sit here watching and noticing breath,
Notice also how your mind is always in motion.
Thoughts come and go.
Emotions and worries come and go.
As these things come and go,
You can let them fade away.
You don't have to attach to them.
Another thought or worry or emotion may take its place,
But at some point there is only space.
Recognize that space between your thoughts.
The moments when it's just you sitting there listening to my voice and watching the breath.
There's nothing to do.
There's no one to see.
There's nothing for you except to pay attention to your breath.
As you sit here present with your breath,
There's still movement in your mind,
But this time when you recognize a thought or recognize your thinking,
Watch that thought as if you are watching it from a distance.
Notice that there is a part of you who is thinking,
But also there is a part of you that is watching and witnessing and noticing the thought.
There is a separation between your thoughts and you the thinker.
And further back beyond all of that,
There's the you that is awareness itself.
You have three aspects right now.
Your thoughts,
The movement or activity of your mind,
And the awareness of you.
Your worries may appear moving,
Changing,
Coming and going.
They take shape for a minute and then they dissolve just like a cloud changing shape and dissolving into the air.
Some are light and wispy.
Others heavy,
Creating storms,
Causing rain.
But each of these thoughts,
Every thought,
Every emotion,
Every worry,
All of this activity of the mind is just a dance of energy across the sky.
It's only creations of your mind that turn you away from your soul.
Your soul is the sky.
Your soul is the place that is still connected to a love greater than you could ever imagine.
Your soul knows that it is the source of unconditional love.
Your soul is the sky,
The foundation.
Your soul is the greater awareness from which these clouds arise.
The sky is sometimes blocked by the clouds,
But the sky never disappears.
The sky is always present,
Always there,
Behind and underneath.
Spacious,
Clear,
Infinite,
And free.
Free because the sky never changes.
The clouds never disturb the sky,
Even though the clouds form storms and weather.
But the sky remains unchanged,
Infinite,
And serene.
It is always there,
Present and stable.
As you notice your mind's activity and any weather or worries or emotions of the clouds,
All you need to do is turn further inward,
Home towards the sky,
Towards your soul.
Identify with this spaciousness,
With the foundation that allows the clouds to play.
What is the true nature of the sky?
Identify with the sky-like sensation.
Allow yourself to expand to the edges of this clear luminosity.
Identify with the spaciousness,
Infinite space,
The infinite mind of God.
For that is where you are right now.
You are peace,
You are joy,
You are essential to the infinite nature of divine love.
As you turn inward to sky and the sky-like mind,
Remember this is who you are.
You are not the clouds,
You are not the weather,
You are not the storms or the rain.
Instead,
You are the witness,
The watcher,
And the container for it all.
You are spaciousness,
And no matter what,
You are the sky,
Unchanging,
Unconditional love,
At peace,
At ease,
Vast and free.
Keep turning inward,
Past the weather,
To the sky-like space of peace,
Acceptance,
And calm.
No longer attached to any thoughts or worries,
Only stillness as the infinite spaciousness fills you with the embracing energy of love.
You are the sky.
You are infinite love.
As you return to your body,
Carry this knowledge with you.
It is part of you,
Part of your DNA,
Your divine nature aloud.
And your soul will sing its way home as you release your worries to the sky and know that you are loved and that you are love.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and hold it to anchor this knowledge in you and release your breath slowly and repeat after me.
I am you.
You are me.
We are one.
All is well.
