Welcome,
My name is Emily and today I'm making space for you to go within.
I'll be your guide as we explore safety and grounding,
The sacred domain of your root chakra.
In a world that moves fast,
That often asks us to rise,
Respond,
Perform,
And produce,
It's easy to lose touch with the ground beneath us.
But without a strong root,
We can't rise in a way that feels sustainable.
We can't bloom fully,
Love deeply,
Or express ourselves freely,
Unless we feel safe to exist.
Safety is not just a feeling,
It's a foundation.
It's what allows the nervous system to settle.
It's what tells the body you are allowed to be here.
It's what reminds the spirit you are already enough.
When we're grounded,
We return to the truth that we belong.
Not because we've earned it,
But because we're alive.
This meditation is an invitation to return to that truth.
To root yourself in the wisdom of the earth.
To let go of what you've been carrying,
Especially if it's not yours.
And to remember the deep,
Unshakable safety that lives inside of you.
There's no way to do this wrong,
Just bring your breath and your presence.
Let the rest unfold.
Let's find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
Letting your hands rest gently,
Palms down,
If you'd like to be more grounded.
Close your eyes if that feels safe,
Or soften your gaze.
Taking a deep breath in,
And letting that go.
Again,
A long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And exhaling that fully.
Feeling your body begin to arrive in this space.
Letting your awareness drop from your head down into your heart.
And even deeper to the base of your spine.
Begin to notice the contact between your body and the ground beneath you.
Feeling the support of the earth,
Steady,
Constant,
Here.
Being held in place by gravity.
Allowing your breath to move all the way down to your belly.
Let the breath be gentle,
Like a slow tide.
With every exhale,
Releasing tension from your body.
Letting your shoulders drop,
Your jaw soften,
Your hands loosen.
Feeling gravity drawing you down,
Reminding you.
You are allowed to rest,
You are allowed to be held.
Bringing your awareness to the bottom of your spine,
Where your root chakra lives.
You might imagine a warm red light glowing here,
Steady.
Pulsing gently with your breath.
From this red light,
Seeing roots extending down into the earth.
Thick,
Ancient roots growing deeper with every breath.
Reaching through the floor,
Soil,
Rock,
And time itself.
These roots are your connection to safety,
Belonging,
Stability.
Imagine that any energy that doesn't serve you,
Any heaviness,
Tension,
Or emotion that isn't yours to carry,
Begins to fall away.
Like the autumn leaves,
These energies drift down,
One by one,
Gently,
Without effort.
They are released from your body and your energy field.
These leaves fall into the soil around your roots,
And the earth,
In its deep wisdom,
Begins to mulch and transmute them,
Turning what once burdened you into nourishment and wisdom.
Breathe in,
Feel the spaciousness return,
Breathe out,
And let go.
Bringing your attention back to your breath,
And quietly repeating this grounding mantra,
I am safe,
I am rooted,
I am held by the earth.
Repeat it out loud with me one time.
I am safe,
I am rooted,
I am held by the earth.
Let's whisper it together once.
I am safe,
I am rooted,
I am held by the earth.
We're going to continue repeating this silently to yourself.
You may get jumbled up,
You may lose it all together.
Just notice,
And drift back to the mantra.
You may get pulled into thoughts,
Physical sensations,
Or noises around you.
There's no judgment,
Just notice that,
And drift back to the mantra.
A gentle drifting back and forth,
Always coming back to the mantra.
I'll keep an eye on the time,
And when you hear my voice again,
Just sit gently,
And release that mantra.
I am safe,
I am rooted,
I am held by the earth.
I am safe,
I am rooted,
I am held by the earth.
Letting this mantra settle into your body like a rhythm,
Feeling the resonance of each word anchoring you more deeply.
Beginning to return to the present moment by deepening your breath,
Wiggling your fingers,
Your toes,
Maybe rolling your shoulders,
Noticing the temperature of the air,
The sounds around you.
If you like,
Place a hand on your lower belly,
Or on your heart,
And whisper to yourself,
I am here,
I am whole,
I am safe.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes,
Letting the feeling of being rooted and held stay with you as you move through your day today.
And then look forward to our next time together,
And always remember to make a little space for yourself.
Until next time,
Namaste.
