Hello and welcome.
Thank you for taking this time out of your day to make some space and some calm for yourself.
Find a comfortable position,
Sitting up with a straight back or laying down if that is more comfortable and suited for you.
Most important thing is that your body is in a safe place and in a relaxed manner.
Notice your breath,
Are you taking shallow breaths,
Do you feel them all the way to the bottom of your belly,
Just notice it's gentle rhythm.
Let's take one deep breath in,
Through the nose and hold it and release it softly through the mouth.
Another deep breath in through the nose,
Visualize it going all the way to the bottom of the belly,
Hold it.
As you continue taking these breaths and you notice your breath,
Your body calming,
See if you can let that calmness remind you of your own strength,
Of your own presence.
Know that this stillness is always within you,
Is always there for you to access it.
If you find your mind drifting away,
Know that is totally okay,
Gently allow it to return to your breath,
Increase your space,
Expand and exhale,
Release and feel yourself expanding some more.
Through this regular practice,
I have found that when I slow down with my breath,
I'm able to experience my thoughts and my being with more compassion,
More acceptance and more awareness.
As you continue this natural and gentle breathing,
See if you can easily notice your mind,
Your thoughts or tension without judgment.
Don't try to fight what you observe,
Just let it be,
Allow your breath to still and calm your mind.
One of my favorite analogies I have learned for this situation is that muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone to settle,
Thoughts and sensations in your body to settle naturally.
As you ease back into your natural rhythm,
Your natural way of being,
Allow these affirmations to permeate throughout your essence,
Feel free to say them silently in your mind or say them out loud.
I am a calm and mindful being,
And mindful being.
Life is a gift which I am blessed to experience.
Life is a gift which I am blessed to experience.
My mind is a tool and I use it wisely and constructively.
My mind is a tool and I use it wisely and constructively.
Allow yourself to naturally come back to the environment that you're in,
Bring back some gentle movement to your body,
Your toes,
Your fingertips,
And when you're ready,
Open your beautiful eyes.
Know that even in anxious moments,
Where your mind may be racing,
Your heart pounding,
And your gut uneasy,
Your breath is always present with you.
Your breath,
The calmness and presence that it provides to you,
Are a tool,
A state of being that you can return to again and again,
No matter where you are,
No matter what you're doing.
Carry this calm with you into the rest of your day,
And repeat this meditation to make it less of a casual practice,
But to make it a lifestyle and a way of being.
Thank you for taking time to meditate with me.
El Shaddai.
