Good morning!

I'm Jess Smith.

Welcome to Starting Your Day on a Path to Happiness.

The Reiki Precepts are a guide to starting this day and every day on a path to happiness.

Let's begin by sitting or lying in a comfortable position.

You may still be in bed as you wake up and get ready for a new day,

And that's perfectly okay.

Bring your attention to your breath without changing it in any way.

Notice without judgment as air enters and exits your nostrils.

When your mind wanders during this meditation,

Simply bring your attention back to your breath.

It is perfectly normal for your mind to wander and is a part of practicing mindfulness.

Begin by closing your eyes and deepening your breath.

As I speak the Reiki Precepts,

Repeat each one silently.

Breathe in each affirmation as a gentle reminder,

And as you exhale,

Release all that no longer serves you.

Let's begin.

Close your eyes and deepen each breath.

Take a long inhale through your nostrils,

Breathing deeply into your belly,

Filling it with air as it expands like a balloon.

Once you have filled your lungs with air all the way to your collarbones,

Slowly exhale the air out through your nostrils in a slow,

Steady stream.

Continue breathing in this way and silently repeat after me.

Inhale,

Just for today,

I will do no anger.

Exhale,

Just for today,

I release all feelings of anger.

Inhale,

Just for today,

I will not worry.

Exhale,

I release all thoughts of worry.

Inhale,

Just for today,

I will be humble and grateful for my many blessings.

Exhale,

I release thoughts of scarcity and feelings of greed.

Inhale,

Just for today,

I will do my work honestly.

Exhale,

I release fear from guiding my choices and getting in the way of me living the life of my dreams and talents.

Inhale,

Just for today,

I will be kind to all living things and myself.

Exhale,

I release all unkind thoughts about others and myself.

As we come to the end of this meditation,

Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Feel the surface beneath you,

The air around you,

And the rhythm of your breath.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes and take a moment to notice how you feel.

Remember,

The peace and intentions you've cultivated here,

Guided by the Reiki precepts,

Can lead you throughout your day.

These precepts encourage you to release anger and worry,

Embrace humility and gratitude,

Act honestly,

And show kindness to all living things,

Including yourself.

They are your compass,

Helping you navigate your day with clarity and purpose.
