Welcome!
I'm so glad you're here.
This morning we are going to start off strong by anchoring into your true self.
Self with a capital S.
Your truth.
Your essence.
Who you are at your core once all the cultural conditioning is stripped away.
This self is pure goodness.
I promise you.
The practice of anchoring into your true self comes from the highly esteemed tradition of internal family systems.
This practice is designed to help you connect to your highest self.
The part of you that can zoom out and see the big picture.
The part of you that holds all the wisdom and clarity you need.
Some benefits you might notice after this practice are a reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms,
Enhanced self-compassion,
And greater access to emotional regulation.
So let's try it together so you can see for yourself.
So I'll invite you to get nice and comfy however that looks for you in this moment.
Let's take a few deep breaths deep into the belly and notice how you feel in your body as you exhale.
See if you can fine-tune your posture so you feel connected to your own center,
Your core,
To your essence.
You might explore how it feels to lengthen your spine as you take a deep breath into your belly or notice how it feels to stand up tall.
Continue to explore your posture until you find a stance that helps you feel strong,
Courageous,
And calm as you breathe deeply into your belly.
I'd like you to imagine that you are connected to your center.
This is a place within you that can serve as a source of clarity,
Curiosity,
And compassion.
Breathe into that space.
Explore bringing a warm,
Gentle smile to your face,
Relaxing your face and slightly lifting the corners of your lips,
Inviting a soft smile to your eyes.
As you engage in this smile,
Allow a relaxed feeling to spread across your face,
Head,
And shoulders.
Noticing if you can connect to a feeling of peacefulness,
Bringing your attention to your heart by taking several deep breaths.
Into your chest,
Perhaps placing one or both of your hands over your heart to enhance your connection to this area of your body.
As you connect to your physical heart,
I also invite you to notice the qualities your heart represents.
Warmth,
Generosity,
Self-compassion,
Love,
Acceptance.
Notice how it feels to know that these qualities are always there inside of you,
Whether or not we always remember.
Now take several deep breaths into your belly.
Again,
You can place one or both hands over this area of your body to enhance your awareness.
The area in your lower abdomen,
About two inches below your navel,
Has many different names from many different traditions,
And the common denominator is that this area is considered the center of inner strength.
As you focus your attention here,
Imagine being connected to a source of stability within you that can help you from being pulled out of balance by people or situations in your life.
Breathing into this space,
And you can rest your hands if you like.
Just notice this overall sense of yourself.
What may have shifted for you?
Now that you are connected to yourself,
Take some time to notice your thoughts,
Witnessing them float on by like clouds in the sky.
As you remain steady and centered,
Realizing deeply that you are not your thoughts,
Noticing any emotions currently present in your body.
What do they feel like in your body?
Perhaps you notice that you feel more grounded or more connected to your center or have an increased sense of clarity.
If so,
Allow yourself to savor and enjoy this positive experience of connecting with your true self.
Feel free to pause this recording for a few minutes,
To stay as long as you like here.
And as you're ready,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Sending gratitude to yourself,
Fluttering your eyes open as you're ready.
What does your self-energy feel like?
Feel free to journal about this if you'd like to go a bit deeper.
Until next time,
Take good care and remember you are so worth showing up for.
