As you will hear in my spoken introduction, a more gentle and kind approach to ourselves is needed. I will guide you to breathe, let go, and connect to the love of spirit. This will enhance your ability to feel the aliveness of the wise, and peaceful higher self within you.

You learn from your mistakes is a phrase we often hear.

I challenge this phrase,

Though,

Because I don't believe we make mistakes.

I believe we have new experiences that teach us,

Shape us.

If I turn the wrong way when I'm driving,

I learn that I'm not paying attention.

If I'm at work and I'm not doing the task properly,

I may learn that I'm tired or overwhelmed.

So,

Did I make a mistake or did I learn something about myself?

How often do we turn so-called mistakes into an opportunity for self-harm,

Saying things in our mind like,

I'm so stupid,

I'm careless,

I'm fill-in-the-blank?

The word mistake says that a thing should not have happened,

But I don't believe that's true.

I know that my greatest lessons have come from the things that did not go right in my view at the time.

The places where I've been hurt or where I've hurt others has provided me the opportunity to deepen into the knowing of who I am or even what matters to me.

Maybe even what I really want in life.

Consider an error or a mistake to be the glowing highlighter over something that's important or precious.

So let's cut ourselves some slack here and take a breath.

Move with me for a moment into a state of rest and detachment.

Let's find some ease here in our being.

As you sit,

Close your eyes for a moment and become aware of your breath.

Take your mind's attention to the inflow and the outflow of your breath.

Now your mind's going to want to wander,

Take off into the past or the future,

And your body might feel quite unsettled.

But don't get frustrated with yourself,

Just keep breathing and bringing your mind's attention back to your breathing.

What it feels like to breathe in as the air moves in and to let it go as the air moves out.

Just keep focusing in this way,

Drawing the breath in and releasing and letting go.

If it helps you,

In your mind as you're breathing,

To say,

Breathe in and I let go.

Or you may say,

I'm breathing in and I'm breathing out.

Whatever feels comfortable for you to keep bringing your mind back to the breath.

This is a gift you're giving yourself right now.

This is a kindness that you're giving yourself.

Oftentimes,

Many of us are very hard on ourselves.

So the fact that you've come to this,

The fact that you're taking a moment to breathe in,

To breathe out,

This is a kind,

Compassionate move towards the self.

All that stress that's built up in your shoulders and your back starts to wash away as you just simply sit here and breathe.

As your mind wants to draw your attention away and you keep saying,

Thank you mind,

But right now I'm breathing and you keep coming back to the breath.

You're redirecting that mind that wants to run off and you're tending to the body that's holding all the stress of the day,

The weeks,

The months,

The years.

I breathe in and I let go.

And any tension that you feel in the throat,

In the jaw,

Begins to wash away too.

As you breathe in and out,

Your spine begins to release its tension all the way down to your low back and into your hips.

This gift you're giving yourself of the breath is releasing a lot from you now.

As you sit here and breathe,

You may even notice tension up in your scalp area,

At the base of your skull.

And as you breathe in and you release out,

More of this tension is going,

An ease moving down through your body,

Through your shoulders and your arms,

Down your back,

Through your hips.

This breath bringing an ease to your whole body.

Feel this breath become like a flow that moves through the top of your head,

All the way down through your body,

Out your feet into the ground.

Even if you're sitting or laying down,

You can imagine your breath washing through you,

Releasing and letting go of all the tension,

This wonderful compassion you're having for yourself.

Breath in and breath out.

You may feel even frustrated by the length of this.

Keep going.

Keep turning your attention to the breathing in,

The breathing out,

The releasing of this tension in the body,

Relaxing even deeper now,

Letting go even more now.

And in these next few breaths,

I want you to become aware of the fact that all around you,

In the environment around you,

In the space of the air around you,

Is a wonderful light,

A divine light,

The light of your spirit,

A loving attendance of the beautiful angels and guides.

They surround us always,

Willing to help,

Willing to ease our tensions.

And you don't need to see these beings,

But feeling their loving presence,

Feeling the energy of their light all around you,

Bringing their compassion,

Understanding,

And support.

Here you sit,

Just breathing in and breathing out,

Letting go of tensions.

Allow,

If you can in this moment,

For this loving energy that surrounds you to highlight within your body your own spiritual aliveness,

That essence that is you,

That spirit that is you.

Where in your body right now might you become aware of the flutter of that energy?

Is it in your heart?

In your solar plexus?

In your hands?

Does it have a quality of color?

Its vibration will be one of peace.

This is a connection to your higher self,

Your own spirit.

Let that energy as you breathe take up more space in your body.

Of course your body is full of it,

But often the body is weighted and clouded by all the energy of life and our thoughts and our heavier emotions.

Now that you've been breathing and letting go,

And relaxing and letting go,

You become more aware of this wonderful spiritual aliveness in you.

Feel that energy that is your eternal being.

Feel your body.

Become aware of how much room it takes up.

And if there's constriction,

Don't worry.

Just let yourself love the whole experience.

And if you struggle at all,

Just bring your attention back to your breath,

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

If you haven't been able to find this aliveness in you,

Try again.

There is a source,

A point of light within your body that is connected to your eternal being,

This peaceful,

Wonderful,

Intelligent,

Wise,

Higher self of you.

Scan your body from head to toe.

Even if it's the size of the head of a pin,

Maybe the size of a golf ball,

Just become aware.

What color is it?

Mine is blue.

I often see a bluey-purple color in mine.

You might see gold,

White.

If you see black,

That's just the connection to the universe that you are.

A wonderful,

Expansive universe.

Connect in to this space that is your spirit within your physical body,

And let your breath expand your awareness of that.

Fill yourself up with it,

Creating more ease and a sense of empowerment.

You have incredible resources within you.

Allow your body and your conscious mind and your spirit to merge here together,

So that you can feel the personality that is you,

Your name,

Your life,

Everything that you're consciously aware of in this life,

Your family,

Your friends,

Your work,

The structure of all of that.

And then there is this eternal being that is ancient in you,

That is alive with love,

That is a part of every breath you take.

You are strong.

You are peace.

The more you get to know where this energy is in your body,

The easier it will be for you to access when you need it,

When you're back engaged with your day,

When your thoughts are overwhelming you,

Or your emotions are too much.

The more you practice this,

It'll be quicker and easier for you to take a step back and just breathe for a moment,

In-breath and out-breath.

Feel a release in your body and then connect in to that source of energy that is your very spirit within you,

And allow that to rise up and take over and ease the mind and ease the body.

You've done a wonderful job.

No matter where you are in this process,

Take a nice deep breath now,

Becoming very grounded,

And we're about to say goodbye here,

We're about to wrap up here.

See if you can practice this through the days and weeks ahead,

And in these next few breaths,

I want you to offer yourself gratitude.

Thank yourself for taking the time to do this,

For stepping into these moments of self-care.

Well done.

Your love and compassion mean so much. I BELIEVE in love, kindness and compasdion. I BELIEVE that our souls are meant to find their way back to that but in this world we are so busy with the day to day struggles, obligations, challenges, that we forget the importance of kindness. Your beautiful recordings are so dedicated to it that my heart is encouraged and warmed. Thank you. πŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ

Lovely reminder to focus on the breath as the mind tries to wander, and my inhale usually is relaxing and my exhale is releasing. Loved your suggestions as well. Thank you so much! πŸ™πŸ’œ
