In our busy lives, we often find ourselves caught up in the constant “doing” and forget to take time to check in with ourselves. We rarely pause to evaluate how we’re feeling or consider what we’re putting out into the world. This meditation helps you to simply BE for a few minutes, allowing you to get to know yourself in a deeper, more profound way. In this short meditation, you will be guided to take a pause and be present with yourself. You’ll learn to intentionally become aware of what your senses are experiencing, providing a moment of mindfulness in your day.

When was the last time you intentionally checked in with yourself?

That you took the time to just process how you're doing,

How are you feeling,

What are you thinking about?

This meditation is here to help you take that time because I know for some of us,

We need someone to help guide us to take that time.

So I would like you to get yourself into a comfortable position.

I just want you to just breathe.

If you need to take a deep breath,

If you just need to sigh,

If you just need to breathe in a regular way,

Nothing special,

Whatever it is you need,

Take the time now.

For me,

There's something about taking a big deep breath in through my nose and long and slow out through my mouth.

Whatever it is that works for you,

Do it.

While you're sitting here,

If you have the ability of sight,

I want you to look around you.

What's around you?

What do you see?

And I want you to feel with your eyes open,

Looking around and thinking about what is it you feel?

Do you feel the temperature in the air?

Do you feel the clothes on your skin?

What emotions are you feeling?

What are you thinking about?

What thoughts are coming to your mind right now?

It's important that we don't judge,

We observe.

So whatever it is you're thinking about,

Let it come,

Let the thoughts come.

Let them come and go.

It's so important that we take this time to just sit and be without judgment,

Seeing,

Feeling,

Listening to our inner thoughts.

What are you thinking about?

If you need to pause to process some more,

Please do so.

As important as it is for your eyes open,

I'd like for you to now close your eyes and breathe however way you choose.

Just a regular breath,

Regular breathing pattern,

Or long and slow.

With your eyes closed,

I want you to go inward now.

What are you feeling?

Same things,

The temperature,

Clothes.

What are you feeling emotionally?

Are you experiencing it differently with your eyes closed than open?

What are you thinking about?

Where do your thoughts take you at this very moment?

Again,

If you need to pause to process,

Please do.

It's so important in this world that we take the time to just be still,

Be open.

Be within ourselves.

And to use our senses to tap into ourselves.

Sometimes we do things and say things that we might regret.

And what if just by being intentionally aware of your thoughts,

Because they lead to your words and your actions,

That you can change not only your life,

But the lives of others.

I'd like you to try this for one day,

One week,

One month,

One year,

Maybe beyond.

Maybe this will be your everyday practice.

Just something simple by experiencing your senses.

Because when you realize,

When you take the time to be aware,

You might do things differently.

By slowing yourself down,

By being intentionally,

Purposefully aware of yourself,

You realize that maybe you change your narrative,

The way you talk to yourself about yourself,

Or maybe about others.

It's such an important thing.

As I say,

You are the ripple.

Everything begins with you.

Your thoughts matter.

Mind your thoughts.

Understand yourself.

Take the time to get to know you.

And just watch how your life unfolds by just simply being aware.

You are the ripple,

So now start living it and being it intentionally.

Thank you.
