If you’ve ever found yourself overworking, constantly chasing achievement, or tying your self-worth to how much you produce, this meditation is for you. Together, we’ll explore the excessive creator energy—the part of us that can get stuck in doing too much, often to avoid deeper feelings underneath. This is an invitation to pause, breathe, and gently face what might be driving the need to prove yourself. You don’t have to carry the weight of constant doing. Let’s return to a place of balance, where you can create from peace, not pressure.

All right,

Grab a seat.

In this meditation,

We're going to be focusing on the excessive creator energy.

So the creator in us is the part of us that wants to do,

To work,

To build,

To grow a project.

It might be the CEO in you,

The entrepreneur,

The salesman,

Maybe it's the farmer.

It doesn't have to be a vocation,

But it's the part of your energy that wants to make something in the world.

And the excessive creator is where we can't stop making,

Where we can't stop working.

So excessive creator energy might turn into workaholism.

It might turn into having an inflated sense of self around our work,

Maybe an excessive need to prove ourselves.

Maybe we start too many projects at once and we get scattered.

Perhaps we start to get really greedy.

Maybe our whole identity becomes our work and our personal relationships start to really get hurt by that.

So the excessive creator,

The opposite end of the spectrum of the deficient creator,

Maybe we're just doing too much and we're overriding something.

Usually when we go into excess in any energy,

It's because we're overwriting something.

Maybe we want to overdo so we don't have to face ourselves or face our pain or face our loneliness.

So we just keep doing.

So let's go into meditation.

This is a great opportunity for you to find out if you have some of this excess energy and if you do release it and find some balance.

So go ahead and close your eyes.

Take a relaxing breath and just drop your shoulders.

When we step into meditation,

We don't have to hold our bodies hostage or become different people.

So I just want you to be nice and relaxed.

And if you do have a tendency to be an excessive creator or somebody's always needing to do something to get something done,

Then meditation might be a little bit difficult for you.

But it's also an invitation to just allow yourself to relax and be still.

And if there is something under the surface that keeps you running,

This is a great opportunity to face it.

So go ahead and draw your awareness and your attention right behind your eyes.

Just be right in the center of your head.

And when you close your physical eyes,

You open your inner eye.

And with your inner eye,

I want you to notice by taking a look inside yourself if there's a part of you that does go into excess when it comes to doing and creating.

Do you overwork?

Do you overinflate your sense of self based on how much money you earn or the projects you've completed or your status in your career?

Do you find yourself focusing on creating and building so much that your personal relationships get hurt?

And we're not here to judge ourselves.

Just see if you could be honest and allow just one energy to arise,

Just one for right now.

Something that you feel and sense that really is pushing you into that excessive creator energy.

Allow yourself to feel it inside your body.

And you may even see an image in your mind's eye.

And once you start to get a sense of what this is,

What the dynamic is,

Maybe the pattern,

You may recognize that this kind of excessive energy may be some kind of escape route for you.

It may actually be a way to avoid.

Maybe it helps you avoid some kind of resistance or pain,

Some scenarios in life you don't want to deal with.

If you lack a kind of self-worth in one area,

Maybe you become excessive with your creator in another to overcompensate.

And again,

There's no right or wrong here.

We're just being honest.

Let your body be nice and relaxed.

Notice the feeling.

Maybe you see an image.

And you might realize,

Yeah,

You know,

I do do that.

Or I am stuck in overworking or over inflating.

That is where I get an excessive amount of self-worth.

And once you recognize an energy,

The question is,

Well,

What do we do with it?

We're not here to punish ourselves or to fight it,

Or even to intellectually solve it.

It's not an equation that needs to be solved.

In meditation,

We start by just acknowledging that we are not here to punish ourselves.

Acknowledging the energy and the feeling,

And seeing if we can accept it the way it is in this moment,

Right in front of us.

That excessive doer in you may want to immediately fix it or change it.

Like this attitude,

Oh,

I've been an excessive creator.

I will be a balanced one right now,

Because I'm really good at accomplishing things in meditation and life.

So if you have that attitude,

Let that be there as well.

That's part of the energy.

And see if you can just take a moment and just surrender to how it feels.

This is often the most uncomfortable part of meditation,

When we allow something we don't enjoy to just be in front of us as it is.

And as you do that,

Can you ask yourself the question,

Why do I go into excess in this way?

What is it that I'm trying to override,

To distract from,

To prove?

Take a moment and get real with yourself,

And see if you can have an insight into why you step into that excessive energy.

Will people love me more if I'm more successful financially or in my career?

Take a moment.

Underneath whatever this energy is,

You may start to find yourself recognizing that there's a deep need that hasn't been fully fulfilled.

Maybe it's for acceptance or love or purpose.

What is that deep need that needs to be fulfilled?

Can you allow yourself to just be with this and be honest about what it is?

And when you recognize what it is,

Can you recognize how you've been trying to force or manipulate life to giving it to you?

For example,

I'll be the most successful entrepreneur,

CEO ever,

And then the world will love me and accept me.

Or when I have financial value,

When I have status,

The world will love me and accept me.

Once you recognize what the need is under this behavior,

Under this mindset,

Can you take a moment and start to allow the energy to peel off of you,

To almost melt off of you?

Anywhere you've been trying to manipulate or to force or pushing life with excessive effort,

Can you just breathe and with a nice,

Warm,

Loving acceptance,

Let some of the energy just melt off of you?

Maybe you don't always have to be right or win,

Or be the best,

Or endlessly produce.

That's a heavy load to always carry through life.

So can you start to put it down?

Draw your awareness into this moment.

Notice the stillness and the peace in this moment.

Maybe you recognize that many of these expectations and pulls on you that always want you to work harder,

They don't actually exist in this moment.

They may just be mental expectations.

Allow your creator energy to start to come back into balance,

Out of the excess as you drop those expectations.

Be centered,

Be present.

And know that how much you produce and create does not equal to what your value is on this planet.

And you'll actually get more quality work done or meaningful creations out into the world if you really know who you are and love yourself.

Take a nice,

Big,

Deep breath in.

Easy,

Soft,

Sigh out.

Great job.

When you're ready,

You can slowly open your eyes and stretch.

Thank you for being here with me,

And I'll see you in the next meditation.

Enjoy yourself.

Thank you, David for creating this beautiful practice of awareness. I have been aware that I am an excessive “doer and as I lay in my practice this morning realize that this behavior is due to me wanting to create security within myself. however, it’s not offering a sense of security, it’s a false sense of security. It’s a behavior that I am familiar with. This awareness, this beautiful practice, has given me something to ponder 🤔 on. I will come back to this to help go deeper in understanding this need to always fill still with with doing.
