You don’t need to feel ready—you just need to show up. The warrior in you knows how to face resistance and keep going. So take a breath, sit still, and let’s wake that part of you back up.

All right,

Welcome to this meditation on the deficient warrior.

So you may not want to sit down for this meditation or focus if you're in the energy of a deficient warrior.

The energy of possibly apathy,

Being unfocused,

Distracted,

Scattered,

Maybe anxious,

Afraid.

You may feel some weakness.

These are some of the aspects of ourselves when our warrior energy is in deficiency.

We may lack confidence.

We may lack direction,

Decisiveness,

Clarity.

And when we step into our true warrior energy,

We overcome these deficiencies,

Let's call them.

And in this meditation,

We're going to look at these energies and see if we can really work through some of them so we can find our balance and our potential in our warrior energy.

And we've all had moments in our lives where we felt lazy,

Where we felt afraid,

Where we wanted to avoid.

Maybe we lost ambition,

Didn't know the direction we wanted to go in.

And the warrior energy is really here to help us step into a sense of commitment and focus and put in the right amount of effort,

Really the right amount of effort that it takes to accomplish a goal.

I know I've had the experience so many times when I've gone to meditate when I didn't want to sit or I would get distracted.

But the warrior in me knew that I had to stay still to achieve something,

To work through an energy,

To find an answer.

And so we call on that warrior energy even in meditation.

So go ahead,

You warrior,

And close your eyes.

Take a deep breath.

Start to relax.

Step into this moment with me.

If you experience any deficient warrior energy even just around your meditation practice,

That you're not a good meditator or you can't sit still,

This is a great opportunity to overcome some of that energy,

To really work through it.

So be still.

Allow yourself to be focused.

Draw your awareness behind your eyes into the center of your head.

And what I'd like you to do is see a gauge from 0 to 100,

A vertical gauge,

And ask yourself,

Out of 100% of my warrior potential,

What percentage am I truly living up to?

On average,

Out of 100%,

How much am I really utilizing?

How much of that potential am I stepping into?

There's no right or wrong.

Really just get a sense of how much of your potential as a warrior you've been stepping into.

The warrior in you may want to achieve goals,

To have structure,

To provide security,

To make others feel safe.

Allow the warrior in you to focus and to see a number.

And if this number comes in below 100%,

Which it often does for many of us,

It's totally okay.

That's what we're here for.

I'd like you to take a look at that gap between whatever number you see and 100%.

And just see what's there.

What energy,

And there may be more than one,

But to start,

What's one energy that keeps you from rising to your potential as a warrior and keeps you in some kind of deficiency?

Maybe keeps you apathetic or in fear,

Unfocused,

Or a lack of discipline.

Is there a belief?

What's there that's really keeping you from being that warrior when it's called upon?

Allow yourself to get a sense of this energy.

You may see an image,

You may feel,

You may just get a sense.

And once you start to connect with whatever this energy is,

Notice if it's time to really face it and start to release it.

Are you up for the task of looking at it directly?

As a true warrior,

We face what we're afraid of,

Of what's keeping us stuck.

And with some courage,

With some certainty,

And with some focus,

We decide,

I'm going to let this go and step into my potential.

What would you feel like,

What would you look like if you moved through this energy and let it go?

Perhaps you even notice some of this energy drain out of the gauge.

You may get a realization,

Wow,

That energy's been frozen there or stuck because I was afraid of what people might think or I was afraid of failure or I allowed myself to be distracted or didn't believe in myself.

Make sure you're breathing.

The warrior in you is here to help you achieve your goals.

One of your goals may be to get through some of this energy,

Through some of this limitation.

So whatever this energy is,

Acknowledge it,

Face it,

Own it.

And as you start to come to terms with it and understand it,

It'll naturally release.

Once you stop resisting it,

Once you stop fighting it,

Sometimes we may even feel energy come out of the body.

It may melt off of us or it may pop.

If you were functioning at a hundred percent potential of your warrior energy,

How would you handle this situation?

How would you handle whatever's in front of you?

Would you be confident,

Focused,

Committed,

Okay with fear?

When a warrior goes into battle and death is a real possibility,

That warrior doesn't have time to sit and think.

Or to contemplate death.

They have to fight and survive and protect.

Immediate,

Clear,

Focused action is the only thing that's going to get them out of it.

See if you can find that focus and confidence in yourself.

Let this deficient energy start to melt off of the gauge.

And you may notice the number begin to rise.

Allow yourself to really come up to your warrior potential.

Perhaps you've deflated long enough.

Or perhaps you've hid long enough or avoided long enough.

There's this saying,

Suffering is necessary until we realize it's not necessary.

The same goes for the warrior.

We've avoided until we realize avoidance will get us nowhere.

It may have worked for you in the past to avoid some kind of pain.

But here with me in this moment,

In this meditation,

It's no longer serving you.

Allow yourself to feel that warrior potential.

Step into it.

Make sure you're breathing.

Feel that confidence slowly begin to resonate that you can achieve whatever goals you're here to achieve.

That you can overcome any deficiency.

And the warrior part of your soul is here to help you do that.

You can call on its wisdom at any time.

Take a nice,

Big,

Deep breath.

And with a warrior's confidence,

You can let go of this gauge of whatever you've been looking at.

Slowly open your eyes and stretch.

And go achieve whatever goals you're setting out to achieve today.

Such an interesting question and I didn’t come up with an answer yet. I might need someone to breakdown for me what being a warrior looks like at my age, with aches and pains and lousy sleep. I was tempted to downgrade myself because it’s easy to compare old me to young me. But that’s not right. My energy is lower. If I get dinner on the table at night, and I manage to cook real food, I think I’ve done pretty well. Sometimes it’s hard to know what 100% is.
