Hello,
My friend.
If you are feeling overwhelmed or feel like you're panicking,
This meditation is here to help you see if you can relax and move through some of this energy.
So the first step here,
And you can do this with your eyes open or closed,
Is just to notice that you're probably not breathing very deeply if you're feeling overwhelmed.
So let's see if you can slow it down with me.
Every breath you take in,
Nice and deep.
Hold it for a moment.
And then slowly breathe out.
As you do that,
Let's bring the shoulders down away from the ears.
And I want you to just begin to notice that sense of overwhelm,
That sense of panic.
It has a vibration.
You might be paying attention to the feelings and the thoughts,
But I want you to notice the vibration.
Is it fast and jagged?
Does it have kind of a high pitch or a dense low pitch?
See if you can notice the texture of the feeling before you go into trying to fix it or solve it or manage it.
And once you start to get a sense of the texture of it,
Just notice that it's also just energy.
It might be trying to convince you of something or tell you a story,
But it's just energy.
And again,
You can do this entire meditation with your eyes open or closed.
And see if you can get acquainted with this energy.
You may have been in resistance to it.
It might make you feel unwell.
You see if you can kind of put the car in neutral for a moment and just observe.
Okay,
This is what it feels like to experience overwhelm energy.
It might be inside your body.
It might also kind of be hovering around your body.
You might notice it's related to other people in your life.
It might be related to the future or to the past.
Just observe,
You don't have to do anything.
And perhaps you've been feeding this overwhelming energy or panicking energy with more overwhelm,
With resistance,
Maybe even with judgment.
Just allow it to be there as feedback rather than something you have to wrestle or fix.
And I want you to notice that even when this energy is around,
Even if it feels like a storm,
It's somewhere deep inside you.
There is stillness.
Allow yourself to experience that for a moment and be aware of it.
Again,
Slowing the breathing down.
And it's very easy to be seduced into problem solving or fixing or figuring this thing out.
But that might be more of the overwhelm energy in and of itself.
When you find that centered,
Calm energy in you,
Then you can face this overwhelm and still be calm.
Just notice it could be here and you can still be calm.
It doesn't have to envelop you or take you over.
It's not the end of the world.
You can allow it to start to melt off of you.
Just one layer at a time.
One energy at a time.
How does that feel to just allow it to start to melt off of you?
You don't need to fix it or figure it out.
You're just present with it.
And some of it may begin to just melt into the ground.
You might just have a bit more space.
Those shoulders might drop even a bit more.
You can even put a smile on your face.
And just see if your energy is starting to shift as you're sitting here with me.
As you begin to anchor yourself more and more into this present moment,
The more awareness you have,
The less overwhelm can seduce you into spinning.
Your breathing is beginning to find a rhythm.
Perhaps you feel a bit more grounded.
And you can just recognize there's a difference between being overwhelmed and feeling the energy of overwhelm and losing yourself to it.
So recognize it's just weather passing through your atmosphere and you can still be calm.

Panic arise.
You just notice that energy.
Find some of that inner calmness and allow that weather to pass without trying to fix it or heal it.
