Hey friend,

Welcome back to the Grounded Sleep Podcast.

I'm David and I'm going to help guide you into a deep sleep tonight,

Even if you're feeling a bit lonely.

And what I'd like you to understand about loneliness and getting through it is that there's a difference between feeling lonely and feeling solitude.

There's a difference between feeling lonely and really just owning and appreciating being alone.

And you may even have a partner in bed next to you,

You may have kids,

You may live with roommates or family or friends,

And you still might feel lonely.

And that's totally okay.

And as you go to sleep tonight,

I'm not asking you to toss your loneliness out.

I'm just inviting you to recognize it and start to come to terms with it,

Be at peace with it in a really calm and gentle way.

And before we go to sleep,

I just wanted to mention I created a free loneliness series.

And if you want to sit with me for it and work this energy during the daytime,

There's a link in the description somewhere,

Wherever you are,

You'll find it.

So if you're not in bed yet,

Get under that blanket,

Turn the lights off.

Maybe you got on some fluffy socks or your favorite t-shirt,

Whatever it is you go to sleep with.

Maybe you sleep with a binky.

It's all good.

And as you close your eyes,

Just let yourself start to settle into bed,

Settle into the night.

When I used to live in Hawaii,

I'd go snorkeling often.

There was a time period where I lived right on the water of a bay called Kealakekua Bay.

It was so beautiful.

And whenever I would go under the water and start snorkeling,

I realized there was this entire civilization,

This entire world under the water.

And there was a peace under the water.

Every time I would go down there,

It was like I stepped into another dimension.

And that's what sleep is.

As you go to sleep,

Even if you feel lonely,

You're stepping into this other dimension,

This deep sea of consciousness that all human beings,

All beings are connected to.

And by no means are you alone.

Some of you are even sharing dreams with others,

Creating worlds,

Experiencing dimensions that you can never even think of in your waking state.

As you start to rest and relax,

It's okay if you feel any of that tension from loneliness,

If there's some melancholy,

A little sadness.

See if you can allow yourself,

If you can allow the loneliness energy to start to drain off of you,

To almost melt away.

And if it's helpful,

You can imagine a nice big tree trunk just extending from the base of your spine down into the center of the earth.

And any of that excess lonely energy just starts to drain down that tree trunk right into the earth.

Sadness can turn into sadness and into that feeling of isolation,

But you can also recognize that there's almost a beauty to it.

There's something about it,

Some kind of emotional processing when you really look at it closely and face it.

It isn't all that bad.

Perhaps your loneliness is just trying to help you get in touch with yourself.

Maybe you've been overriding it by doing and going outwards and life is trying to pull you in.

As you go to sleep,

Allow yourself to be pulled in.

And notice in the interior dimension of yourself,

There's this doorway.

On one side,

The side you're on,

It says loneliness.

But then you step through it.

Go ahead and step through that doorway.

And as you do on the other side,

You'll see that the door says solitude as you look back at it.

You allow yourself to actually appreciate spending time with yourself,

Getting to know yourself,

Loving yourself,

And falling asleep with yourself.

Allow your body to get heavy with the energy of sleep.

In a deep sense,

As you step into your solitude,

You're also stepping into your true power.

Feel yourself enjoying the solitude,

The inner peace.

And allow yourself to step into the dimension of sleep.

It's not uncommon to do a lot of processing as we sleep.

So if you want to set the intention tonight,

And you're going to process some of this energy and emotion,

Then set this intention.

Or perhaps you're ready to just let it go right now.

And then have a nice,

Gentle,

Calm sleep.

As you conquer your loneliness,

And you do that just by accepting how you feel and being here with the energy.

As you do that,

On the other side of it,

You recognize loneliness turns into oneness.

So we go from loneliness to solitude to oneness.

As your muscles start to relax,

As your breath starts to slow,

As your body starts to surrender to the night,

You'll recognize as you drift into the dimension of sleep,

It's almost like that underwater space,

That deep sea of consciousness where everything is connected.

Allow yourself to drop down into this place.

Let go of the day.

Let go of the physical world.

In this deep sea of dream consciousness,

The attribute of loneliness doesn't even exist.

Allow the night to just pull you in.

Let go of any tension.

Let go of any energy that's ready to drop.

Allow yourself to reenter that dimension of oneness where everything is connected,

Where the fabric of reality is made of love and peace.

And you belong.

This is where you belong.

You notice that tree trunk has you nice and rooted and grounded.

As you sleep,

You may continue to release any residue.

Any energy that doesn't serve you anymore.

And you start to feel at home in this place that you spend a third of your life,

In this deep sea of sleep awareness where all beings are connected.

Breathe nice and deeply.

Nice and slowly.

And allow the night to just pull you in.

You're going to have a very deep and peaceful sleep.

Good night.

Eloquently put. It seems like it took me so long to finally feel at ease with myself. Iโ€™m so glad I did. Being alone is so much more fulfilling than endlessly searching. Thank you for your comforting recordings.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š
