Awakening The Soul & Finding Purpose
This practice was taken out of a live talk David gave on Easter Sunday. He gently guides you to awakening the deepest part of your soul and seeing your life path clearly. If you've been feeling uneasy or uncertain about life, this is a great opportunity to release that energy and focus on purpose.

All right,
Let's go ahead and get comfortable and close our eyes.
We're going to do a six hour meditation today.
Just kidding.
Don't run away.
Don't leave.
It's just going to be a few minutes.
So go ahead,
Eyes closed.
Take a moment here.
Let your shoulders relax.
Let your belly relax by taking a few deep breaths.
Bring your attention behind your eyes.
Kind of right behind your eyes into the center of your head.
Notice just on a subtle level that you are more than just your body.
I can give you,
Well I can't give you,
But maybe life could give you a different body and you'd still be there behind your eyes.
You're even more than your memories from this lifetime.
Perhaps the soul is what experiences memories.
The awareness behind the memories.
Notice that awareness behind your memories.
Something has to be able to experience them.
And perhaps your soul is here.
You are here on this planet during this time period in this life with these circumstances.
Not by accident.
Perhaps there are things that you're here to learn as a soul.
Things you're here to grow into,
Understand.
Perhaps you're not here to win.
In fact,
Most of life is losing,
Isn't it?
The people around us.
Every moment dies into the next.
Every physical form has a life expectancy of some kind.
And we get onto this planet.
We have psychic amnesia.
We don't know why we're here.
And then things start to fall away.
Just say hello to the reality of that for a moment.
It's not necessarily a bad thing.
You don't have to label it.
It's just part of life.
Sometimes as things fall away,
Something deeper reveals itself.
So if something is falling away in your life right now,
That's okay.
The soul is not really interested in control and controlling everything.
That's more the mind.
So if there's anywhere your mind is trying to control everything,
Maybe just turn the volume down on it right now.
If you notice there's like a volume knob in the back of your head for that worrying,
Controlling mind.
So turn it way down to maybe like 10%.
As you turn that volume down,
Maybe just some heaviness starts to drain off of your body.
Your soul has been on a long journey.
Maybe it's been on a journey that's lasted eons and eons.
Maybe it's learned many,
Many deep life lessons.
And just as you're sitting here with me in your mind's eye,
Almost like right out in front of you,
I want you to see a nice big soap bubble.
Let it show you one kind of lesson that your soul has been learning or has already learned a great deal.
For example,
It might be a lesson around loss or love or change or growth or compassion,
Acceptance.
Let your deeper self show you something as a soul that you've been mastering,
Maybe even for numerous lifetimes.
Who's to say?
You might see it as an image in that soap bubble or you might just get like a deep intuitive sense like,
Oh,
I've been learning a lot about loss or I've been learning a lot about the heart.
I've been learning a lot about sharing or healing or creativity or being stuck.
I visited almost every cul-de-sac in this galaxy and had to turn back.
I've learned a lot about getting out of cul-de-sacs,
About getting out of loops,
Corners,
Ditches.
I've learned a lot about when people hurt other people out of unconsciousness.
I've learned a lot about desire,
About why people behave the way they do,
About invalidation or self-worth.
Just notice what you've been learning as a soul and see if you can integrate it a little bit more.
Validate what you've been learning.
And if it's something you've been failing at or feeling like you've been failing at or just hurting about like losing someone or heartbreak,
That is your soul learning.
We learn through experience.
That's the only way to learn.
So if you've experienced loneliness or heartbreak or confusion a thousand times over,
I want you to pat yourself on the back for a moment because you've chosen quite the assignment in this life.
And if you look at other people and go,
Well,
Why aren't they experiencing this kind of pain?
Well,
Maybe it's because that's not their lesson this time around.
They're learning something else.
As you really recognize what this is inside you,
As you start to integrate it into your body and own it,
Own it with a deep level of acceptance.
Not that it's good or bad,
Just a deep level of acceptance that it is.
You can't deny that this is what you're experiencing.
As you look at this,
As you experience this,
So you have a soap bubble out in front of you and it's just showing you a life lesson or a soul lesson that you've been learning over perhaps eons of time.
As you look at that,
All of the sudden in that soap bubble,
You start to see a path.
So it's almost like the soap bubble slowly dissipates.
And what you've been looking at now,
You see a path.
It might be a track or it might be a dirt path or it might be a road and it might be windy,
It might be straight.
But right out in front of you,
You're starting to see a path and recognizing that whatever you've been going through is on this path.
It has to be on this path because this here is where you are.
Now it's possibly been in denial about that.
And if you're in denial,
Then you're just standing on your path saying,
I'm not on a path.
So I want you to take a look at this path out in front of you.
Just call it your soul's path.
And just get an intuitive sense.
You can ask that deeper part of your soul to start to show you where this is leading you.
Where are you going as a soul on your path?
What's the purpose here?
So just as an example,
Is it to grow into love?
Is it enlightenment?
Is it forgiveness?
Is it acceptance?
Is it creativity?
Is it exploration?
Is it understanding?
And even if there's noise in your head or you get distracted,
Even with that,
You can still sense this.
You can still see it.
Notice that life has almost like a pulse,
There's like a beat,
Just like your body.
There's a rhythm.
There's an energy.
It's subtle,
But it's there.
And notice that you're here on purpose.
What does that path look like for you?
What's one of the reasons you're here?
You don't have to wait until you die to find out.
And even if there's some pain around this,
See if you can embrace it.
See if there's energy for you around self-worth.
See if you can give yourself enough self-worth to validate that you're here meditating,
Looking at your path.
If there's any emotion,
Let it process.
If you want to resurrect,
Let's say,
Then something has to shift.
The coolest part about meditation is when we really sit still and we stop fighting,
It's almost like it happens automatically.
It's like the shift happens when we're aware and we're not trying to control.
When we're aware,
We open.
How much effort does a flower put in to open its petals?
It's almost like this effortless,
Subtle movement just opens.
But it's a lot of effort to stay closed.
Does it take more effort to have your hand in a fist or to have it open?
You could imagine your own inner flower just starting to open right in the center of your chest and your heart.
It just opens.
Over the last few minutes of meditation here,
You recognize that becoming aware of your soul's essence,
Of your path,
You're naturally getting a healing.
If you feel like you veered off your path or you got stuck,
You're naturally getting a healing.
What's that saying from Jesus?
The meek shall inherit the earth.
I love that.
When I hear meek,
I understand it as sensitive.
If your soul has been hovering above your body,
Looking down,
Going,
I'm not going in there.
Now is a great time to really let yourself all the way in.
Even if it's a bit painful sometimes.
The more you can be in your body,
The more your path will unfold for you on earth.
And earth is round.
That might seem obvious,
But there may be dimensions and places where things aren't round.
So when you're on something round,
No matter what direction you go,
You come back to where you started.
So part of the life lesson on earth is perhaps coming home and coming into yourself.
And everyone's fighting or arguing.
And they're just missing that simple truth of just coming home to themselves and recognizing that deep inner peace that sits there all the time,
Just waiting,
Just patiently,
Infinitely.
This deep,
Infinite patience just waiting for you to come back.
Take a nice big,
Deep breath in and a sigh out.
Take whatever you've noticed.
Take a snapshot of it.
Let yourself really integrate it.
You're doing great.
You're on your path,
Whether you know it or not.
And it's up to you how much you want to wake up to it.
It's up to you how much you want to live it.
It's up to you how much you want to embrace it and how much you want to value yourself and how much you want to share.
It's all up to you.
When you're ready,
You can slowly open your eyes and stretch.

Thank you for the meditation, the kindness in your voice brought me such a peaceful experience. My path looked like a road of light leading to the stars on a search for enlightenment. Unfortunately in life I feel like the tires that lead me on that road are flat. Do you have any other lessons on here that might help me with that?

This meditation holds so much value as I focus coming from the soul and not the mind . I can feel the Spirit as I look at the pathway that I am on and continue to move forward.

This was amazing. I now know that like forks in a road my path has different parts. Forgiveness was one part but now that same road has switched to gratitude. I am now working on looking at the same people I forgave and listing all the things I am grateful of because of them.
