Cutting through cognitive burnout.

If you've had a day where distractions,

Busyness,

Or just a lot of setbacks,

This practice is for you.

This cutting through cognitive burnout practice is a way to create some space and to directly see the nature of this cognitive burnout.

And as a result,

By experiencing directly the essence of this burnout,

You notice greater space,

Clarity,

And energy.

So take a few breaths into your belly and notice.

Say to yourself,

How does it feel to have cognitive burnout right now?

However it feels,

Allow yourself to be that way.

Notice how tight it might be,

Confusing you may feel,

In unable to make decisions,

Tired,

Or just plain flat.

Allow yourself to be that way just in this moment.

If it feels like it's only 10%,

Give yourself permission to feel it fully and that it may actually be 100% cognitive burnout.

Really feel it,

See it,

Taste it,

Experience it.

When we allow ourselves to feel this way,

We stop the undercurrent of violence towards ourselves,

To not feel as we're feeling.

Allow yourself to feel that way,

Allows the resistance,

The violence to stop,

And the emotion to just roll on and subside.

If you're feeling more spacious,

That's good.

Now for cutting through,

And if you still haven't felt a release,

Allow yourself permission to say,

I feel cognitive burnout.

I'm burnt out.

Notice that that statement brings on an attachment to being confused,

Stressed,

The experience cognitively of feeling burnout.

I am burnt out.

There is no space in that statement.

It's a definite belief.

Feel it,

And know that shortly this will not be the case.

So just allow yourself to fully feel cognitive burnout.

Now take a breath,

And in your mind's eye,

Say the following,

I feel cognitive burnout.

I feel cognitive burnout.

Really feel it.

It's okay.

Feel cognitive burnout.

There could be good reason for that.

Give yourself permission to feel cognitive burnout.

And you may feel that this statement gives you more space when we insert the filler word of feel versus I am cognitive burnout,

Or I am burnt out.

I feel burnt out gives us just a little bit of space for the pressure to release.

Now say this following phrase internally,

I am aware that I feel cognitive burnout.

I am aware that I feel cognitive burnout.

And notice the experience of awareness and the feeling of awareness gives you more space,

Even more space.

Not doing anything with cognitive burnout,

The experience of cognitive burnout,

Just being more curious about the direct experience of cognitive burnout.

See a slight intention when you say the phrase again.

When you say the word awareness,

As if you're looking behind you,

And the experience of cognitive burnout as being in front of you.

So,

I am aware that I feel cognitive burnout.

Is there more space?

Not numbing out,

Not judging out,

Not bypassing cognitive burnout,

Just really being curious about the experience of who or what is experiencing burnout.

I am aware that I am experiencing,

Feeling burnout.

Where is the burnout?

Now finally,

This is the last shift.

Say the words internally,

I'm aware that a part of me feels burnt out.

And feel into the space of that phrase.

The felt experience,

What opens up,

I am aware that a part of me feels burnt out.

Use the phrase as a direct experience pointing or guidance to find space of awareness behind you,

A part of you in your body experiencing cognitive burnout or burnout in front of you.

Now notice,

Is there more space around cognitive burnout?

Is there less grab,

Less resistance?

Is there less attachment to being burnt out?

If your body is feeling wave-like,

Space-like,

Heavy or even light,

Warmer,

That's a good sign.

Notice that you can include cognitive burnout in the experience of awareness,

As if you've transcended the initial belief.

To include the belief,

But coming from a much vaster basis of operation,

Viewpoint.

Allow this to be the case.

And also allow cognitive burnout to inform you what you can do to avoid it in the future.

Using wisdom to help us make some changes around avoiding cognitive burnout in the future.

Is useful.

We could find ourselves saying more no's in the future,

Taking more breaks in the future,

Being less attached to seeking approval in the future,

And testing and measuring and coming from our insight,

Intuition as to how much we put on our plate.

Prioritizing our wellness,

Shifting into awareness,

Allows us to experience fully cognitive burnout or any burnout,

But coming from awareness,

Which is pervasive,

Timeless and spacious,

And intimately curious without any judgment.

Allow yourself to abide in the experience of awareness without pushing cognitive burnout away,

And you notice your experience of that belief transforms.

Now check in with yourself and see,

Just in order to educate the ordinary mind,

Do you feel less the impacts of cognitive burnout or more?

If you could live from this awareness space,

Would you?

Can you handle more of life's challenges from this ground of awareness?

Do you feel more at peace,

Compassionate with yourself and others,

And able to maintain your boundaries in the spirit of your well-balanced performance?

Now you can welcome,

Through this cutting through practice,

Any cognitive burnout because it doesn't take you down.

Awareness is ineffable,

Indestructible,

Always available,

And in most people's experience,

Supportive and unending.

Bring the practice to a close.

Thank you for your practice.
