Hi,
My name is Claire Naidoo and today we're going to do a visualization.
I think this practice today is really good if you have experienced something recently or it's been going on for some time where it either doesn't make sense to you or you have some clarity on it and you are ready to turn whatever it is,
Whether you understand it or not,
Into gold,
Into something better than you could have imagined,
Notwithstanding that situation or event or occurrence.
So I'm just going to ask you to close your eyes,
Just focus on your body,
How it feels,
Noticing your breath,
Aware of the breath in and the breath out and then I'm going to ask you to just to bring forward the feelings associated with that either event or series of events or circumstances and I want you to see it in the form of a mug or a pottery bowl.
So it's something that's made out of pottery and it's your experience with it,
Your feelings about it and you can see it with your mind's eye just hovering in front of you and it represents your feelings associated with it,
Good or bad,
Understanding or not understanding and just noticing it there,
Just suspended and you just look at it and you notice what's around it,
Maybe it's just a dark background,
It's just in darkness but you can see,
You can see it very clearly and in a moment I'm going to ask you to visualize it no longer being suspended but dropping onto the ground and when I ask you to do that you will then notice whether it's just cracked a little bit,
Whether it's fallen into many pieces or maybe it's just fallen into a few pieces.
So just looking at the pottery,
Just sitting there,
The mug or the bowl,
Whatever it is that you visualized,
Maybe it's a vase and you notice it falling at a pace that is right for that thing,
Maybe it falls really quickly,
Maybe it just goes down slowly and you notice that it's reached the bottom and it's cracked and you notice where it has cracked,
Whether it's just a tiny bit,
Whether it's a lot in many pieces and you don't judge it,
You just notice it.
And now you get to apply a beautiful process of repairing it with gold.
There's actually a Japanese art of repairing broken things and it's called Kintsugi and there's different ways that they repair but in this visualization what we're going to do is that imagining that we have a little pot of liquid gold and we have a brush and that pot of liquid gold is going to form the glue as we reform this thing to a state that was even better than before,
Better than we could have imagined.
And so you pick up the brush and you stir it in the liquid gold and you look at the piece and you intuitively know which piece to pick up first to join with another or if it hasn't cracked completely,
You know exactly where to apply the brush to the crack.
And you do this over and over as many times as needed and as you're doing the process you notice how beautiful it is.
There's a fragility in the item and yet a strength in the being brought back together,
Not only stronger than before but also even more beautiful before and even more unique than before.
It's like the thing that happened was always meant to happen because what came from that was something that could never be experienced or seen without that having happened first.
And so in the difficulty there's this raw beauty that can only be seen if one can visualize what is possible beyond the crack,
Beyond the cracks.
For it was never broken,
It was just in a form to be recreated,
To be more unique,
More beautiful and more stronger than before.
And as you finish the last few strokes you admire what you see before you,
Created with you and allowing the meaning to flow to you at the most perfect and opportune time.
Whether you already know and understand it fully or whether it comes to you in the quiet moments,
Perhaps when you're not expecting it or even thinking about it.
And for now you just observe the perfection of the broken transformed to this beautiful unique item.
And you move your hand with the brush away from the item and place it down and you watch the item leave its resting place and move higher and higher and higher and you observe it in all its beauty.
Not judging it for the difficult times that it has been through,
Where it was broken,
But in fact knowing that's where its strength comes from.
And so it's not judged.
The beauty of it is truly seen,
Felt and experienced.
And with that in a moment I will invite you to prepare to open your eyes and noticing how the appreciation and thankfulness that you have for being able to observe and experience this.
On the count of three,
You open your eyes.
One,
Two,
Three.
Your eyes open and a smile comes to your face.
Thank you for being here today.
I hope you have a lovely rest of the day.
