Managing anxiety.
What is it in general?
It's living in fear.
That's the experience of it.
And people experience it to different degrees.
It's the fear of what could happen.
It's the fear of what won't happen depending on the situation.
It's general indecision or panic of knowing what to do or what way to go.
Fears of one way or the other or not even starting something that you want to because of past results that didn't end so well for you.
So there's this big fear to begin or try again with something else due to the fear.
Anxiety is a ball of emotions.
It's a mixture of emotions that feels uncomfortable.
Anxiety is anticipation of something good or bad.
If it's for something good,
There could be intense fear involved.
You want to do it,
But you don't want to do it too.
It's like a tug of war of fear inside you.
The I'd wish to be anywhere but here kind of feeling.
Sometimes you consciously are aware of the reason because you have to do something that you don't want to do.
And you have a fear of like giving a speech or public speaking or to do a video real time with your face.
But sometimes it can pop up out of nowhere,
But it can also be for lack of preparation for something,
Not feeling prepared to do something,
Anxious or just unrelaxed energy that's stressful that is bringing on fear,
Unjustified,
Or it's something that you want to do and you just have to work through the fear and emotions to get through it,
To achieve a goal,
Like a tryout for something or a job interview.
Either way,
Intense fear is involved.
So there are some things that we can do that are very effective to help manage anxiety.
One is to take care of the here and now to help alleviate some of what type of fears by taking action.
Tools you can use are journaling out your feelings for release to help get rid of the stress and to identify your emotions.
Another way is breathing deeply when you breathe.
It helps to release stress.
You can also do three sets of deep breaths in and out in a row.
Let's do that now as an example.
You can do it here with me or just listen.
Now take a deep breath in and take a deep breath out.
Take another deep breath in and take a deep breath out.
Take another deep breath in and take another deep breath out.
Another thing you can do is develop a meditation practice or experience guided meditations where you can just listen and follow along.
Let's do one of those right now,
A guided meditation.
That can help relieve some of your anxiety.
Okay,
So find somewhere to get comfortable and close your eyes.
Do the deep breaths three times in and out.
Breathe in deeply and breathe out.
Breathe in deeply and breathe out.
Breathe in deeply and breathe out.
Now put your focus on yourself and your desire to experience peace.
Say inside yourself or aloud,
I am worthy of peace.
I deserve to relax.
I deserve to let go of everything that is giving me anxiety right now.
I am in control.
Right now,
I allow myself to calm down and relax.
I keep letting go until I feel the stress fall off of me.
I let it go.
I let it go.
I let it go.
And I carry the peace that I found here through the rest of my day.
Now take three breaths in and out and open your eyes.
Take a deep breath in,
Take a deep breath out.
Take a deep breath in,
Take a deep breath out.
Take a deep breath in,
Take a deep breath out.
And now you can open your eyes.
How do you feel,
Better?
I would guess so.
Come back to this whenever you need it.
I hope you enjoyed this session.
