This soft visualization invites you to rest with the image of still water as a way to settle and slow down. You’ll be guided gently, with spacious pauses, allowing thoughts to come and go without effort. This practice does not aim to create a specific feeling or outcome. It’s simply a place to pause and be.

Take a moment to settle in.

You don't need to change anything.

You don't need to arrive in a certain way.

Let your body be however it is right now.

If it feels comfortable,

Allow your eyes to close or soften your gaze.

Bring your attention to the places where your body is being held.

The chair beneath you.

The floor under your feet.

Notice the weight of your body resting.

No effort required.

Begin to notice your breath.

Not changing it.

Not deepening it.

Just noticing.

The natural rhythm of inhale and exhale.

If your mind drifts,

That's okay.

Each time you notice,

You can gently return to the breath.

Now imagine still water.

A lake or a wide pond.

The surface is calm,

Undisturbed.

There is no movement on the surface.

No ripples.

No wind.

You are not in the water.

You are simply nearby,

Observing.

Notice how the water holds stillness without effort.

It doesn't try to be calm.

It just is.

If a thought arises,

Imagine it like a leaf drifting across the surface.

It appears.

It moves slowly.

And it passes.

The water remains still beneath it.

Let yourself rest with this image.

Still water.

Quiet surface.

Depth beneath.

You don't need to feel peaceful for this to be working.

You don't need clarity.

You don't need insight.

Simply being here is enough.

When you're ready,

Begin to gently bring your awareness back.

Feeling your body again.

The room around you.

There's no rush.

Take your time.
