This is meditation for writers,

So if you'd like to find a comfortable seat or a lying down position,

Find somewhere quiet where you won't be interrupted for the next few minutes,

And slowly close your eyes.

If you need to shake your body a little,

Or just gently rolling your shoulders back,

Forwards,

A couple of times,

Back again,

And finding some length in your chest,

In your spine,

In your neck,

Some openness in your chest,

Maybe your hips are relaxing,

Your eyes are closed now,

Your eyelids are feeling soft,

And just allow this feeling of softness,

Of release,

To permeate throughout your whole body,

From the crown of the head,

All the way down to the toes.

It's as if you're standing under a waterfall or a shower,

And as the water is trickling on your skin,

It's also trickling inside,

And just softening,

Bringing space between your cells,

Releasing any contraction,

Any tension,

All the way down into the earth,

And bringing you some nourishment and recalibration at the same time.

Allow yourself to feel that feeling of softening.

Maybe you can feel some tingling,

And that's okay.

Maybe you can't feel anything,

And that's also okay.

Whatever your experience is right now,

Accept it,

Observe it,

Without trying to fix it.

And if you feel like there's a lot of activity going on in your mind,

In your brain,

Maybe place your focus on the sole of your feet for a moment,

Feeling all the sensations of the sole of your feet,

Observing your toes,

The space between your toes,

Maybe even the print of the sole of your feet,

The sensation between the sole of your feet and the floor,

Or whatever surface they're up against.

It could be your own body if you're cross-legged,

Just don't move,

Just place your focus on your feet.

These are your roots,

Your anchor into the ground,

And whenever the mind is a little bit overactive,

Bringing the attention to the feet really helps ground back into the body,

Into the earth.

This earth element,

Which is linked to the weight of our bones and muscles and flesh,

That earth element is the structure we need in order to create.

It could have the form of routines,

Resources,

Or frame,

Just like a painter has a canvas,

That's the earth element.

Whatever goes on the canvas is more the water element,

The creativity.

And so with this in mind,

Bringing your attention to your pelvis,

To your,

What we call the sacral chakra.

And regardless of whether you know it or not,

Whether you believe it or not,

Just feeling into that part of the body,

This creative part.

We often think that creation comes from the mind,

And yet this part is where our reproductive organs are,

And so that's where the initial creation actually happens.

And so placing your attention without moving the body to that part of the body,

And tuning into the creative powers of this part of the body.

Observing how it feels,

And maybe visualizing like a recipient of water in that part of the body.

Observing the qualities of that water.

Is the water,

Is the water dark?

Is it agitated?

And allow those waters to travel up to your heart,

Feeling the sensations of your heart.

Maybe you can feel a heartbeat,

And just visualize those waters traveling up from your sacral up to your heart.

And visualize a transformation happening where your heart is.

This is where your soul,

Your core values,

Your magic.

So allow that heart of yours to transform.

And now visualizing the waters coming out of your heart and into your arms and hands.

Your arms and hands are the extension of your heart.

So when we write,

When we write purely from the heart,

We're writing through our arms and hands,

With the energy coming from our heart,

With the inspiration coming from our heart.

And so with this in mind,

Just imagine that water's flowing through your fingers,

And keeping the image of the canvas of the painter.

Just visualize that water being splashed on a blank canvas.

Observing the colors,

The patterns,

Without any judgment.

And allowing yourself to celebrate this act of creation,

Regardless of the outcome.

Or maybe there's nothing on the canvas,

And that's also okay.

That's exactly what needs to be present right now.

Whatever it is that you're observing,

That's exactly it.

Now letting go of that image.

Allowing your awareness to rest again onto your body.

On your breath.

Observing the rise and fall of your chest.

Maybe taking stock how you're feeling compared to the beginning of the practice.

And giving yourself permission to return to this space of acceptance,

Of softening.

Of tuning into the heart.

And bringing your awareness back into the room that you're in.

Feeling the support beneath you,

The walls around you.

Taking one big breath in through the nose.

And exhale out through the mouth.

Again inhaling through the nose.

Softening the chest,

The belly,

Opening the ribcage.

And exhale out through the mouth.

And one last time,

Inhaling through the nose.

Softening the belly,

The chest.

Expanding the ribcage and the whole torso.

And exhale out.

And slowly opening your eyes,

Coming back into the space.

Feel free to sip a little water,

Grab a little something to eat,

To ground back into the earth element.

And I'd like to invite you to maybe journal on a couple of points from this meditation.

So maybe observing,

Just writing a little paragraph on the quality of the water that you were observing in your sacral chakra.

The flow to your heart.

And on how the heart transformed these waters and ended up splashing the canvas,

Filling the canvas with the transformed waters of your creativity.

And if none of that speaks to you,

That's also okay.

Feel free to just pick a pen and paper and start writing about anything that comes through without the mind blocking it.

Just really allowing yourself to write the words on the paper,

On a screen.

And without judgment,

Just accepting whatever comes through.

I wish you a beautiful day and feel free to comment or share this meditation.
