Find a comfortable position,
Whether sitting or lying down,
You choose.
And when you feel safe,
Please close your eyes.
And take a moment to settle into this space,
Allowing your body and mind to relax.
You might want to get the alignment of your body right,
So if you need to move a little,
Please do so.
An alignment which is open and aware.
And now notice the feeling of body breathing.
Tune into your breath.
Notice the natural flow of your breath.
You don't need to change or force anything.
Simply,
Observing each inhale,
And simply observing each exhale.
And now we begin our meditation to connect with the source,
The source from which all existence flows.
The source is the entire universe.
In this moment,
Go within to that quiet place where we experience a connection to the higher self.
As we begin,
Let's ask ourselves,
What is steadiness?
Steadiness conveys the quality or state of being steady,
Unwavering and stable in various aspects of life,
Including physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
And spiritual dimension.
Let's ask ourselves,
What is firmness?
Firmness refers to maintaining emotional equilibrium,
Not being easily swayed away by external circumstances or internal emotions.
What makes the mind steady and firm?
A steady and firm mind refers to the ability to remain calm,
Composed,
And balanced in the face of challenges,
Uncertainties,
And fluctuations of life.
Now I want you to bring a situation from the past.
A situation where your actions were not steady.
A situation where you were procrastinating your emotional health.
A situation where you were abandoning yourself.
Perhaps a memory from the past where you were not equanimous and completely out of balance in life.
And ask these questions.
What does steadiness look like in my life?
What prevents me from embodying and expressing equanimity?
What is one small step I could take to be firm towards my spiritual practice?
And now imagine a situation where you are completely equanimous.
Imagine a situation where you are composed in all life situations,
Pleasant or unpleasant.
Imagine a situation where you are eminently poised regardless of your likes and dislikes.
How does it feel not to be out of balance in life?
How would it feel to be steady?
How does it feel to be equanimous?
Perhaps a sense of balance.
Perhaps a sense of composure.
Or perhaps a sense of serenity.
Imagine the effect you are going to have on others.
Imagine you have a steady mind and explore how this affects your environment.
Imagine you have a fluctuating mind and notice how this affects your environment.
Noticing this contrasting difference.
And you will understand how important it is to move away from this fluctuating mind to a steady mind.
Let's spend a moment focusing on today's centering thought.
I commit to my physical,
Mental,
Emotional and spiritual well-being.
I commit to my physical,
Mental,
Emotional and spiritual well-being.
I commit to my physical,
Mental,
Emotional and spiritual well-being.
And now,
Let go of any specific techniques.
Just simply allow yourself to sit quietly.
Allowing yourself to be present as to whatever is arising in this present moment.
Bring hands in front of your heart.
And we will seal the practice today by bowing to ourselves and others.
Please take a breath in and breathe out.
Bowing yourself and others.
Thanks for practicing today.
Namaste.
