Welcome to Briya Yoga.

In today's practice we are going to be practicing yoga nidra.

Yoga nidra is a restful practice that will make you feel more well rested afterwards but the deeper meaning behind yoga nidra is to put you into a deep state of relaxation and then through meditation and visualization we uncover hidden beliefs and memories that are living within your subconscious mind and keeping you stuck in a cycle of repeating things that you may not want to be repeating and these hidden beliefs and memories are affecting your vibrational frequencies so when we clear them you realign with your true self and your life gets better it turns more into the way you want to be living so we're going to pick one resolution or intention that you want to focus on through this practice today and we will bring it up throughout the practice and for now you're going to get into shavasana which if you practice yoga often you'll notice the final resting pose of a yoga asana flow practice is laying down and getting as comfortable as you can laying on your back with your hands flop open to your side your feet about hips width apart or just whatever is comfortable for you honestly you can get some blankets and some pillows and really set yourself up for relaxation maybe you'll want to light a candle or some incense try to put yourself in a quiet space free of distraction as you're setting up if you choose to use a blanket be sure that your hands are free and your palms are facing up so you don't want anything touching the palms of your hands because there are so many sensory and nerve endings in your hands it sends signals to your brain and interferes with getting you into that deep state of relaxation close your eyes your eyes are gonna remain closed your body will remain relaxed and shavasana for our entire practice you will be listening and becoming
