Welcome,
Dear soul.
In life,
I've personally discovered something simple and powerful,
That real change doesn't happen all at once.
It happens quietly,
Steadily,
When I take one step at a time,
Day by day,
Step by step,
And when I move this way,
Patiently,
Consistently,
I find that I can reach any goal I choose.
Not by pushing,
But by trusting the next step to reveal itself when I'm ready.
Let this be a space where that knowing settles deep into you.
Begin by finding your comfortable position,
Allowing your body to be fully supported by the chair,
The bed,
Below Mother Earth is holding you.
There is nothing you need to achieve right now,
Nothing you need to fix,
Nothing you need to force,
Just this quiet moment,
And the quiet permission to arrive.
Take a slow breath in through the nose,
And exhale gently through the mouth,
Again breathing in calm,
And breathing out any pressure or urgency.
With each breath,
Your body begins to soften,
Your shoulders releasing,
Your jaw unclenching,
Your belly loosening.
Notice you don't have to make this happen,
Because your body already knows how to settle.
You are safe here.
Now imagine in front of you a wide,
Gentle staircase,
Not steep,
Not demanding,
Just steady,
Welcoming,
And patient.
At the base of the steps is a small sign,
It reads,
Day by day,
Step by step.
You don't need to see the top.
You don't need to see how many steps there are,
All that matters is the next one.
Take a moment to notice how you feel standing here at the bottom,
Whatever is present is allowed,
Strength,
Tiredness,
Hope,
Grief,
Perhaps uncertainty,
Nothing needs to be pushed away,
And when you're ready,
Gently place one foot on the first step.
As you do,
Allow these words to arise within you,
Today is enough.
Feel the solidity of that step beneath you,
It holds you,
You are supported.
Now move to the second step,
And as you do here,
I do not have to do everything today.
Breathing easily and naturally,
You continue upwards at your own pace,
Each step represents one small moment of effort,
One breath,
One choice,
One act of kindness towards yourself.
Another step,
I trust my timing,
Another,
I am allowed to go slowly.
If your mind wanders,
That's perfectly ok,
You simply return to the rhythm,
Breath,
Step,
Breath,
Step,
And even when it feels subtle,
Even when it feels quiet,
Something is shifting beneath the surface.
Notice how your body feels now,
Perhaps a little lighter,
Perhaps steadier,
And even if nothing feels different yet,
The movement is still happening.
You reach a small landing,
Here you pause,
And in this pause,
Something becomes clear,
You are not climbing to become worthy,
You are climbing because you already are worthy.
Let that understanding settle into your chest,
Into your heart,
Take a deep breath here as you anchor this in.
Now you continue the steps,
Beginning to carry gentle truths,
Each one landing naturally,
Effortlessly within you.
I can do hard things,
One step at a time,
Progress does not need to be loud to be real,
Even resting is part of the journey,
I am moving even when it feels slow,
Each step meets you exactly where you are,
Never ahead of you,
Never behind you,
And you may begin to realise,
The staircase has always been with you,
There may be days when you climb many steps,
There may be days when you sit on one step to breathe,
Both count,
Both are part of the path,
As you take a few steps more,
Notice a soft light around you,
Not blinding,
Just steady,
Supportive,
A quiet reassurance,
And somewhere inside these words echo gently,
You can do anything,
When you do it this way,
Day by day,
Step by step,
Soon you arrive at a place that feels right to stop for today,
Not because the journey is over,
But because this is enough for now,
Turn and notice how far you have already come on your journey,
Even if it doesn't look dramatic,
It's real,
Place a hand over your heart,
Feel the warmth there,
Feel the intelligence,
The resilience,
Take one final breath here,
And as you exhale,
Allow this knowing to settle deeply within you,
You are capable,
You are allowed to move slowly,
And you are already on your way,
I invite you to acknowledge this to yourself,
By giving yourself a hug,
And whisper to yourself,
Day by day,
Step by step,
I can do anything,
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to your body,
To the room around you,
And open your eyes,
Carrying this steadiness within you,
Bringing it into the rest of your day,
Bringing in the knowing that step by step,
You are capable,
Have a beautiful day,
Namaste.
