Welcome,
Dear soul,
To becoming nothing.
Take a deep breath in,
And release it slowly.
This is your sacred time,
Nothing to achieve,
Nothing to prove,
Nothing to uphold,
Just allow yourself to simply arrive here and now,
Finding your comfortable position,
Closing your eyes gently.
Feel the ground beneath you,
Steady,
Supportive,
Holding you without question.
Take a slow inhale through the nose,
And an exhale softly through the mouth,
Again,
Inhaling through your nose,
And exhaling through your mouth,
Inhaling peace,
Exhaling everything you no longer need.
Notice your body softening,
Your shoulders drop,
Your hands grow heavy,
Your jaw unclenches.
There is nowhere else to be,
Nothing else to do,
Just breathing in this moment.
Now bring to mind the many ways you think about yourself,
The roles you play around certain people,
The responsibilities you carry,
The labels you wear,
The labels of other people,
The stories that you tell yourself about who you are.
Now imagine each one of these garments you are wearing dissolving.
With each breath,
You remove a layer.
I am not this role.
I am not this story.
I am not my responsibilities.
I am not this mask.
With every exhale,
Let another layer fall off.
See them piling on the ground.
All the identities,
All the expectations from others,
All the expectations from yourself.
Letting go layer by layer,
Until just you remain,
Without the stories,
Free.
Feel the relief of no longer hiding them.
Notice the weight lifting off.
Notice how light you are becoming.
You do not need to be something in this moment.
Now ask yourself,
What remains when everything is set down?
When you are not your title.
Not a role.
Not a story.
There is no need to define it.
Just notice the vast openness.
Like the clear sky when all the clouds have drifted away.
If you notice any of these clouds coming in,
You can blow them away with your breath.
With each breath,
Releasing the roles.
The stories are clouds to be blown away.
The masks disappearing.
With each breath,
Sink into this spaciousness.
With each exhale,
Whisper inwardly,
I am nothing.
Feel how peaceful it is.
In nothingness,
There is no pressure.
No comparison.
No proving.
Only stillness.
And in the stillness,
Is only freedom.
Rest in the vastness of being no one and nothing.
The quiet witness.
The pure awareness.
You are boundless.
Infinite.
Unburdened.
Imagine if you were a drop of water falling into the ocean.
At first you are separate.
Something to find.
But now you merge into the sea.
The drop dissolves.
You are no longer something.
You are the ocean itself.
Allow yourself to dissolve into the ocean of silence.
Merging with the greater nothing.
You are not the wave.
Not the surface.
Not the shore.
But you are the depths.
Endless.
Timeless.
Free.
Stay here for a few breaths.
Resting in this vast stillness.
Now begin to gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
Notice the rise and fall of your chest.
Notice the subtle sounds around you.
Feel the support beneath you.
When you are ready,
Take a deeper breath in.
And sigh it out.
Bring a soft smile to your lips.
Know this truth.
In becoming nothing,
You become free.
In releasing the burden of being,
You discover peace,
Wholeness,
And the vastness of all that is.
Carry this lightness with you as you open your eyes now.
Returning gently to the world.
Unburdened.
Spacious.
And free.
Blessings to you,
Dear soul.
Namaste.
