This meditation is meant to guide listeners through an awareness journey, using the senses. As practitioners journey, the awareness can lead to release and comfort in that area. If you are sitting, make sure that you have props that can support your practice, even if you do not think you will need them.

Namaste.

Thank you so much for honoring your time and being here with me today.

Today we're going to find our awareness through the senses.

So if there is a sense that you have perhaps lost sensation or you are not able to use as well as far as hearing,

Taste,

Touch,

Smell,

Sound,

Please know that this meditation is still one that you might find benefit in,

Where we are able to notice when we can enhance other senses,

Other sense organs,

Or you might notice that we are stronger in other areas naturally because our bodies are no longer able to do what we used to be able to do in certain areas.

So if you're able to come to close your eyes,

If it feels better to keep them open,

That is welcomed.

But to allow for the full experience,

Eyes being closed will help with one of the senses being taken away momentarily.

If you're feeling unsafe or challenged,

Just a little bit too deeply for your preference today,

Completely understandable.

Notice the darkness as your eyes close.

Notice the breathing as your lungs inflate.

If you're in a well-lit area or outside,

Maybe you notice the light within the darkness through your eyelids,

Through sensations of the soul.

Sometimes we notice the portal that we embody.

We might be more able to embrace it.

As you continue to keep the eyes closed,

Notice what you're feeling in the body,

The texture of your clothing.

Bring your awareness to the softness you might notice as you exhale fully.

Bring your awareness to the fullness as you breathe in.

Belly muscles inflate,

Ribs expand.

As you breathe in,

Again,

Fill the body up.

As you breathe out,

Bring your attention to your ease.

Notice what,

As you take your next breath in and out,

Notice what you might be able to hear that's a little bit further away.

Notice if this is a sound that you experience regularly,

Something you haven't noticed before.

Maybe it's a sound you're used to hearing and you hear it differently today.

Notice if the sounds you're experiencing can be high.

Imagine what is making the sounds that you might be hearing.

As you take in your next big breath,

Out there in one specific area of the mouth at all,

Very gently start to move the mouth,

Move the tongue around,

Feel the jaw muscles engage,

The space beneath your tongue.

As you exhale,

Take a swallow.

Feel your shoulders soften,

Neck muscles soften,

And notice what you taste.

Maybe you taste the memory of food and you are reminded that big breath in as you fill the belly,

Fill your lungs,

Fill your heart space.

Take a swallow and as you exhale,

Notice everything within the mouth.

Maybe you notice the sensation,

What it feels like to add flavor to the palate.

What it sounds like to chew and begin the digestion process.

Widen your nostrils.

As you take the next breath in,

Notice what you might sense through smell.

Breathe out pleasant or unpleasant sensations.

Take another breath in through the nose.

Becoming aware of what smells you might be experiencing as you breathe here.

If you're outside,

Maybe you notice the smell of wet grass.

Maybe you notice the smell of lavender as you walk by someone else.

Whether you're smelling tea or coffee,

Fresh meal,

Or nothing at all.

How does your body respond to smell?

Do you feel a sensation,

Good or bad,

In the body?

Do you hear voices in your head,

Including your own?

Do you notice your mouth respond as your taste buds do what they naturally do in response to smell,

Especially something to eat?

Can you notice the humanness of each sense that you're able to tap into and become more aware of today?

Notice the sensations,

What is safe and what can move through the air.

Continue to take full breaths in through your nose,

Full breaths out through your nose,

To create favors,

Perfumes,

As well as what's not so favored.

As you take a big breath in,

Notice the sensations you're feeling,

The weight of the body being held by the floor.

Notice what you're hearing.

Connect to what you might be tasting.

As you breathe in,

What you can sense through smell.

If your eyes are still closed,

Notice the darkness behind the beds.

As you take in every feeling,

Every sound,

Every flavor,

And every fragrance.

I would like to thank you for spending time with me today,

Spending time with yourself,

And if you're with others.

Thank you for taking the opportunity to be aware of how your senses can be enhanced or heightened as you are using fewer.

One off to notice the next.

Turning off your awareness of one sense to be one with another.

All well,

Good and healthy feelings,

More opportunities to ground.
