In this guided meditation experience, you'll use visualization of a positive, joyful memory to bring the ease of that moment alive right now. We think ease and effortlessness are states of relaxation that exist outside of us. But if we tune in and reflect on moments in life when ease came without effort, we can bring that beautiful moment to life through visualization. Using the senses and inviting the memory of a moment of pure joy, we will shift into a fully restful meditative state. You will leave with a sense of relaxation in the body, mind, and spirit from that beautiful moment that can heal you now.

Hi friends,

It's Beth.

Welcome to this meditation experience using visualization and personal memories to explore the idea of existing and resting in a place of relaxation and ease.

So,

Find a quiet space made just for you,

Where you can relax,

Spread out,

Snuggle in,

And take up space for the next few minutes.

And as you settle in,

Allowing gravity to hold the body in whatever shape the body wants to rest in,

Perhaps just tune in to the breath,

Notice the flow and rhythm of the inhale and exhale.

And let's contemplate ease.

What does ease mean to you?

Ease in the body?

Ease in the mind?

Ease in the emotions?

Ease in the spiritual body or the soul?

We often think that ease is something outside of us,

And that it requires work to find a sense of ease in our day and in our actions.

But what if ease was actually all around us?

We just have to shift our point of view from seeing all the things we think with our mind are difficult,

And instead look closer to find where the ease exists in any given situation.

When we were children,

We had a viewmaster and a viewfinder.

With the little discs that you could change and go to a different location,

A different story,

A different place.

Those were made for ease between stories.

And what if you could change the disc in your spiritual viewmaster to be one of ease and effortlessness in your day to day activities,

Your mental processes,

Your spiritual growth?

What does a sense of ease look like?

What does a sense of ease feel like?

What does a sense of ease sound like?

And how does a sense of ease fill your soul?

How is ease meaningful to you?

And how is ease meaningful to you?

For this meditation,

We're going to invite the mind to revisualize a memory of a time,

A day,

A vacation,

Something in your life.

Where there was no effort to exist.

What is the most easeful experience that you have had in your life?

And invite the memory of that time to come into the mind.

Anytime during this meditation that your mind wanders or worries or begins to look outside itself for a sense of peace,

Feel the invisible pull of that memory,

The time,

The place,

The space,

And go back into it to explore.

Perhaps it was a beach with soft waves floating on the sand.

Perhaps it was a nap on a blanket under a starry midnight sky.

Perhaps it was last night snuggled in bed with your pet or your beautiful child.

Or even just a sense of completion of a day of meaningful work.

Wherever you find in your memory the deepest sense of ease,

Visualize all the parts of that moment and go there.

And as you rest in this place of ease,

Where do you feel the greatest sense of physical comfort?

Can you invite that physical comfort into the body where you rest now?

As your body sinks into the support of where you are lying,

Can you let the mind begin to sink back into the memory of ease?

Can you allow yourself to take up space in your memory?

And when you do,

What do you notice?

The colors,

The quality of light,

The shine of someone's smile,

The sun in the sky,

The birds or trees you are building.

Let yourself expand into this sense created by your memory of ease.

And as you rest with this memory,

Can you let the sense of ease,

Of peace,

Of calm relaxation surround you?

Imagine that from where you rest,

You can inhale the ease of this moment,

Of this memory into your physical body right now.

And on your next inhale,

Invite a sense of ease into the body,

In through the nose,

Down through the throat,

Into the heart space,

And let it spread,

Let it expand,

Let it soften.

As you exhale,

Can you release any lingering sense of tension or stress or worry?

And returning to the vision and the memory of this beautiful place of ease,

Can you tune in to the energy of what your heart experienced in that moment?

And can you let that expansive,

Infinite sense of ease to permeate the body where you rest,

The mind where you rest,

The soul where you rest,

And the space all around you where you rest right now.

Where in the body,

The mind,

And the soul,

Is there the deepest sense of effortless existence right now?

For the next minute of your practice,

Go there.

Ease is not something that exists outside of us.

Ease is available to each of us in every moment and with every breath.

Ease is available to each of us in every moment and with every breath.

Bringing hands together at heart center,

Touching the thumb into that heart space where a sense of ease always exists if we just take the time to tune in and listen.

Bring the breath into this heart space.

Bring the breath into this heart space.

And carry this sense of ease with you into the rest of your day.

Namaste.
