As we come together today for a meditation session I'll invite you to find a super comfy spot,
Nestle in and get really really comfy.
If you can find a space here to lie down I recommend it for a body scan,
However you can also do it from a seated position.
Beginning by finding your breath today,
Noticing what it's like as it is right now.
Is it short and shallow?
Are you naturally already finding a little bit of depth with your breath?
This is such a lovely time to not just connect in with your body physically but also as we scan through the body today,
Check in with yourself emotionally.
It's really common for us to hold little parts of emotions in different parts of our body and if you do as we scan through find any parts in the body today where there's an emotion that wants to be expressed,
I warmly invite you to honor that and you might choose to breathe in a little bit more deeply into that area.
And so we'll begin with eyes closed,
Mouth is gently relaxed,
Tongue feels soft and comfortable and just notice now that you can take that breath in a little bit deeper and find softness through the belly,
The ribs,
The chest and the shoulders each and every time you bring that breath into your body.
We're going to start down at your feet so taking your focus right down to your feet and as you notice the sensations in your feet today,
I'd love you to create a little anchor point with your contact point so whether you're on a ground surface or on furniture,
Notice that there's a root system that stems from that first contact point whether it's the sole of your foot or the heel of your foot that starts anchoring down into the ground beneath you.
Following the thread now up your calf and again if there's a contact point notice a root system emerging from the back of the calf and anchoring down into the ground.
Gently coming up now behind the knees,
Taking breath deeply down into your torso as we do scan.
Up through the back of your thighs,
Taking your focus to your buttocks now so through the glute area and again with a contact point really noticing this beautiful web of root systems finding strength and connection as it roots down into the earth connecting you to this beautiful planet.
Finding another beautiful deep breath now as we move up the lower back and spend just a moment through the whole tummy area and as you find yourself here with your mind and your focus see if you have any possibilities to soften off through the whole tummy area.
So any tension you might not have realized you were holding there and I want you to really feel that melting down into the ground there.
That absolute trust and letting go as we follow the spine up through the lumbar curve and coming up to the middle and upper back here.
Finding another beautiful system here of roots and follow the back of your arms down now noticing as you travel past elbows,
Past your wrists and down into your palms.
Do you notice any energy sitting in the palm of your hands,
Any warmth or tingling?
As you soften with your hands and travel in your mind back up perhaps the top side of your arms.
Traveling up again past the elbows over the biceps and we're landing on your shoulders and the shoulders notoriously hold some emotions and typically that can be stress for a lot of people.
So really noticing here what's the energy like in your shoulders.
Are you able to create any softness as you breathe in and as you release your breath.
What letting go can you find here.
Traveling up the neck right up to the origin of your tongue right at the back of your mouth and bringing the attention all the way through the mouth now.
So really gentle softening bringing an expression of peace to your whole face.
Traveling up over the forehead,
Through the scalp now and noticing that root system.
If you are indeed horizontal at the back of the head that connection to the earth through those beautiful roots and if you take your view now up to above your whole body.
So looking guess from a bird's-eye perspective at your whole body and you notice now all of those connection points and all of the root systems and you can see where they go all the way down into the earth.
You can feel how deeply connected you are to the planet and to yourself and perhaps noticing that you are not separate or other.
That we are part of one complete organism here pulsing and vibrating together and what's really beautiful about that is that when you spend the time like you are now focusing on and raising your vibration you're lifting the vibration of the earth.
Notice the thickness,
The density,
The strength and maybe even the weaving qualities of those roots that you have created today.
Anchoring all the way down into the center of the earth noticing all of the formations,
The natural rocks,
The layers that their root system travels to and that even though there are layers and you could argue for separation they build together and each of them is incredibly vital.
And we want to leave today's meditation with that essence of connection so even when you do eventually hop back up again and move know that that memory of that connection will still exist.
That grounding,
That rooting and that connection will absolutely still be there.
Noticing softness through your whole body as you've been able to slowly let go as we move through it and now completely let go in one whole breath in through the nose and a lovely long exhale through the mouth and two more times in through the nose and soften even deeper let go even more and find your final breath in this meditation in through the nose and let go out through the mouth.
