Take a moment to arrive just as you are.
Notice the simple fact that you are here.
Feel the places where your body is supported.
The ground,
The chair,
The surface beneath you.
Let support do the work.
Allow your breath to move naturally,
Finding its own honest rhythm.
Many of us carry a familiar tendency.
A subtle leaning forward.
A reaching toward sensation.
A listening that anticipates something happening.
For now,
See if that movement can soften.
This is a space for listening.
Letting experience arrive in its own way.
Sacred presence moves at its own pace.
It listens attentively,
Allowing the body to respond as it chooses.
Bring your attention gently into the body.
Simply noticing what is already here.
Stillness.
Neutrality.
Whatever is present is enough.
If attention begins to follow sensation,
Wanting to intensify,
Hold,
Or move toward it,
You can notice that moment as reaching and allow it to settle.
Presence deepens as attention rests,
Unhurried and receptive.
Let awareness widen,
Including the front of the body,
The back of the body,
And the space around you.
You are already held within life.
If desire appears,
Let it move as energy,
Free of instruction.
If desire is quiet,
Let that be complete.
This moment is whole as it is.
Listening without reaching creates room.
Room for sensation to come and go.
Room for aliveness to breathe.
Room for intimacy that unfolds without pressure.
Notice what becomes available when you stay,
Allowing experience to move on its own.
As this practice settles,
Remember that listening without reaching,
Of intimacy with yourself,
With others,
With life,
This way of listening remains available whenever you want to return to ease and presence.
When you're ready,
Allow gentle movement back into the body,
Or let the eyes open softly.
Take your time.
