Meditation for increasing self-esteem and self-confidence.
Begin by settling into a seated position.
Make sure you feel really comfortable here.
You'll begin to close your eyes if that feels okay and start to focus on your breathing.
Notice what your breath feels like as it enters your nose and exits your nose or your mouth.
Breathe.
Keep breathing.
Keep noticing.
And then zoom out,
Beginning to notice how your entire body feels.
Notice if you're holding any tension.
Notice how your shoulders,
Your back,
And your jaw feel.
Invite yourself,
Your body,
To release and relax with each breath out.
Breathe in relaxation.
Breathe out,
Intending to release.
Releasing what's not serving you.
Releasing tension or tightness.
Inhaling peace and calm and letting go what gets to go on the exhalation.
If your mind starts to wander,
Just gently bring your attention back to your breath,
To the feeling of warmth and self-love as you continue to take slow,
Deep,
Intentional breaths.
Continue to breathe slowly and gently,
Deepening your state of relaxation more and more with each breath.
Relaxed.
Calm.
At peace.
The calmer I feel,
The more clarity I have and the more confident I am.
Begin to create a picture in your mind.
Imagine a place where you feel completely at ease.
This might be a favorite place you have been or somewhere you have seen.
Or maybe it's completely imaginary.
Whatever place comes to mind where you feel happy and calm,
Just go with that.
Create the details about this place in your mind.
Begin to visualize the sights,
The sounds,
The smells of your place.
Imagine how you feel physically in this space.
Intending to feel comfortable,
Enjoying the pleasant temperature,
Just really enjoying being still and relaxing or doing whatever enjoyable activities you are participating in here.
Enjoy the way you feel in this safe space.
You feel calm and safe here.
You're at peace with yourself.
You're at peace with the world as it is.
Maybe you even lift the corners of your mouth to smile as you soak in the comfort,
Harmony and tranquility of this space.
Rest in this peaceful place while allowing my words to become your words silently.
And really feel these words in your body with warmth and gentleness toward yourself.
Take a deep breath in.
Exhale with a sigh out the mouth.
Rather than worry what others think,
I choose to live my life for me.
In every way,
I am already enough.
I choose to cultivate positive thoughts about myself.
I am allowed to have needs and I am allowed to express them.
I choose to be kind to myself.
Rather than follow the expectations of others,
I choose the path that's right for me.
I love who I used to be,
Who I am,
And who I am becoming.
When I look back on past versions of myself,
I feel warmth and gratitude.
Taking time for self-care is not the same as being selfish.
Sometimes I feel emotionally turbulent.
That's okay.
I allow myself to feel all of my feelings.
My own approval is worth more than the approval of others.
When I look at my life,
It is incredible how much I've grown.
I walk through the world feeling loved by myself and by others.
If I want to change,
That's okay,
But I don't have to change in order to love myself.
I am allowed to set boundaries and I expect others to follow them.
My voice deserves to be heard and my feelings deserve to be shared.
I am worthy of forgiveness and I choose to forgive myself.
I notice what feels like an obligation in my life and I release myself.
I choose to associate with people who make me feel better and I allow those who don't to drift away.
Although I've made mistakes,
They don't define me.
I have something of value to give to the world just by being me.
Come back to your breath,
Taking another conscious,
Intentional breath into the body.
Exhale to sigh it out.
In this peaceful place,
Picture yourself again just enjoying this environment.
Acknowledge the feelings you are experiencing after repeating these words.
Accepting any positive or negative feelings that you are having and choosing to feel calm and at peace in this moment.
Expressing gratitude to your mind,
Your body,
And your soul.
Gratitude to this special place.
Although it is time to leave it,
Know that you can always return here in your imagination any time you need to relax,
Feel calm,
And be at peace.
For now,
You'll take with you the feelings of acceptance of yourself and the belief in these self-esteem,
