This talk begins with a parable titled, "The Greatest Miracle: On The Temptations Of Spiritual Powers." Powerful reflections follow inviting contemplation about doing miracles that are still to be in the world of the ego. Real greatness is so ordinary that it claims nothing; it is so ordinary that it never tries to prove anything. What is enough? To be a seeker interested in ascension, yet at what sacrifice? Do you eat and sleep well in a place of presence? A paradox on a quest for balance.

Welcome to this moment,

No matter the type of day you've had,

Want to have,

Or will have.

I greet you with grace and with words to stir your soul,

To know thyself,

To reflect,

To unravel,

To cultivate and to be.

Please move and groove to find comfort in the body temple.

It could be a sway,

It could be some rolling of shoulders,

Opening and closing mouth,

Blinking eyes.

Here you are.

Let your breath come and go freely and let that be an anchor for this moment.

For I have a story for you,

A parable of sorts.

May you let the words wash through you and hear them.

See what's activated,

What's remembered.

The greatest miracle on the temptations of spiritual powers.

A man came to Lin Chi and said,

My master is a great psychic.

What do you say about your master?

What can your master do?

What miracles?

Lin Chi asked,

What miracles has your master been doing?

The disciple said,

One day he told me to go to the other bank of the river and I stood there with a piece of paper in my hand.

The river was very wide,

Almost one mile wide.

He was standing on the other bank and from there he started writing with a fountain pen and the writing came onto my paper.

This I have seen myself.

I am a witness.

What can your master do?

Lin Chi said,

When he is hungry he eats and when he is sleepy he goes to sleep.

The man said,

What are you talking about?

You call these miracles?

Everybody is doing that.

Lin Chi said,

Nobody is doing that.

When you sleep you do a thousand things.

When you eat you think a thousand and one things.

When my master sleeps he simply sleeps.

No tossing,

No turning,

Not even a dream.

Only sleep exists in that moment,

Nothing else.

And when he is hungry he eats.

He is always wherever he is.

What is the point of writing from one bank of a river to the other side of the bank?

That is just foolish.

Only foolish people would be interested in it.

What is the point?

Somebody went to Ramakrishna and said,

My master is a great man.

He can walk on water.

Ramakrishna said,

Foolish,

Because I can simply go to the ferryman and for just two pennies he takes me to the other side.

Your master is a fool.

Go and make him aware that he should not waste his life.

It can be done so easily,

But the mind is always hankering.

The mind is nothing but hankering,

Desiring something to happen.

Sometimes it is thinking about money,

To have more money,

To have bigger houses,

To have more responsibility,

To have more political power.

Then you turn towards spirituality.

The mind remains the same.

Now you want to have more psychic powers,

Telepathy,

Clairvoyance,

All sorts of nonsense.

But the mind remains the same.

You want more and more and more,

More and more and more.

It's the same game and it continues.

Now,

It is telepathy or clairvoyance or psychic powers.

If you can do this,

I can do more than this.

I can read people's thoughts thousands of miles away.

How about the thought that life in itself is a miracle,

But the ego is not ready to accept that.

It wants to do something special,

Something that nobody else is doing,

Something extraordinary.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Allow five breaths before further reflection.

The greatest miracle.

To do a miracle is great,

But not great enough.

To do a miracle is still to be in the world of an ego.

A real a real greatness is so ordinary that it claims nothing.

It's so ordinary that it never tries to prove anything.

Lord Almighty,

Take me to church.

Wow.

Isn't it wild?

We want more and more and more.

It's never enough.

It's never enough.

The ego wants more.

The mind wants more,

More and more.

And I get it,

Right?

God wants to know thyself through the expansion.

So God wants to realize God's self through us.

So there is this constant expansion and that's the nature of knowingness.

So is this even possible to be in the ordinary simplicity?

Can we be normal?

I don't use the word normal,

But just in this case,

Can we be normal and average and can that be the miracle when you just are without any magic and telepathy and clairvoyance and psychic abilities to float and to fly?

And hmm,

Yeah.

You know,

I think because we're in this world of duality,

Contrast,

Most things are a,

We've heard the word,

The saying,

A double edged sword.

They are,

There's another word for it.

It's not coming to me right now.

It's not an oxymoron.

It's a,

Almost like a trick,

Double standard,

Something like that.

So it's like,

If the nature of life and consciousness is expansion and you will and want and desire more,

It's natural to want that.

It's like you want to expand.

You had this interesting experience in meditation or you achieve that in like the whole thing with Olympics.

It's like,

Okay,

Well,

What else can happen?

Can someone do more?

It's the nature of existence,

Growth,

Possibility.

Okay.

What's another level layer,

The chakras,

There's more than seven.

It's like,

So I think,

And it's okay.

Cause it's the essence of the godly force.

But at the same time,

I can see how that's a trap and an illusion to never be enough.

Self-development addiction.

You can get addicted to self-help books to keep yourself busy.

I actually even have people in my life.

They're like,

I have to keep busy,

Yoga,

Jogging,

Pole dancing,

Zumba,

Jogging,

This,

That,

Like I have to keep busy.

If not,

It's going to be scary.

Oh,

Really?

So I think some of the most powerful things indeed are just eat.

I've been doing it.

When the weather's warmer,

It's easy to take your food,

Go outside,

Literally just watch nature or people watch.

If you're in a city,

Just eat and witness the texture,

The breath.

So yeah,

I love this parable for that reason.

It is a miracle to just be in the moment.

It's always so cheesy.

It's like,

Be in the moment,

Be present.

It's like,

Okay,

But I want to like go through this spiritual test,

Text.

The miracle is in the simplicity.

The magic is can you be here right here,

Right now?

But it's also not wrong if you have the desire to explore esoteric.

So yes,

It's balance.

It's also where are you at?

Where are you at?

May you honour the humanity of yourself that needs to eat,

Sleep and release,

But you're also light,

Your consciousness of the body,

Temple and the character.

So nurture that too.

Addictions can happen indeed.

What is your purpose?

The purpose word can be also its own addiction and judgment.

So I like to say intention and curiosity.

They're all in the same world,

Purpose,

Intention,

Curiosity,

But that's very helpful.

So why are you meditating?

Why are you following this teacher?

Why are you even listening to me right now?

What is the spark,

The purpose,

The seed,

The curiosity?

Why do you want to ascend?

There's a lot of fear,

Wars,

Physical wars,

Spiritual wars.

Yes.

So you want to ascend because that's not the expression of what Christ consciousness expanded loving awareness is.

I get it.

So you want to rise up and not just eat your food and sleep when the world's not reflecting your reality of what you know is possible on this planet and incarnation of godliness.

I get it.

So that makes sense.

Your intention is the world doesn't reflect the collective of what I know to be true of what's possible.

So I'm going to meditate and elevate in my world,

In my home,

In my neighborhood.

Okay.

That makes sense.

Yeah,

But it's good to know that.

So you can eat your sweet potato fries,

Your ice cream.

You can sleep without any magnificent,

Elaborate dreams.

And it's good.

It's the miracle too.

So whatever miracles you choose,

Remember you are this and you are that.

Nurture the body temple and nurture the divine conscious awareness that you are.

There's no right or wrong,

But know that eating a proper meal with presence and not scrolling on your phone or reading or watching TV or blah,

Blah,

Blah,

Blah,

Blah.

And sleeping without tossing and turning in the most elaborate dreams that has just as much value as if you're telepathic or you ascend and you're like floating in other dimensions.

They're both a miracle.

You are a miracle.

Everything's a miracle.

When you're present with your intention,

Curiosity,

And purpose,

Know that.

May you live your miracles day in and day out.

And it's enough.

There's no competition.

If you're going on 90 days,

Meditating an hour or this or that and working with this monk and that one,

Maybe you just make a beautiful miso soup or you're proud of the sandwich that you made that has the most beautiful combinations.

And you're mindful with that and you eat it with presence.

And it's a miracle that you feel safe to sleep soundly.

And it's a miracle that you have food in front of you with so much injustice around the world.

May you count your blessings and your miracles in this lifetime.

And when you're out of your body to enjoy the voyage,

May you be present for it and have a smile on your head and heart.

Thank you.
