Welcome to a brief meditation focusing on our crown chakra.
In Sanskrit this is known as our sahas rara or sahas rara chakra.
Take a few moments here to find a comfortable meditation position that will allow you to remain still for about five minutes or so.
I recommend sitting on a cushion or finding a way to allow the hips to be above the knees to avoid any pain or numbness.
Knowing that any discomfort is always an invitation to adjust your posture.
Allow your spine to remain tall and free as you root down and then rise up through the crown of the head.
Take a moment here just to tune into your breathing without trying to change the breath.
Just noticing the quality of your breathing.
Is it short and shallow or is it slow and deep?
Just notice without judgment coming into a space of awareness of the body and the physical sensations of being alive.
Now I invite you to bring your awareness to the crown of your head and allow your field of awareness to be filled with pure white light and let this white light fill you,
Emanate from you and surround you.
This chakra at the crown of the head is the place from which thought,
Knowing,
Understanding,
Transcendence and meditation are born.
From this place we understand from experiential place consciousness.
A place of deep understanding,
A place of connection with all that is.
Feeling of immersion with nature.
That feeling gazing over a beautiful vista at the top of a mountain.
A place of utter connection that's here ready for you to tap into.
Allow yourself to view the places that you've gone.
The memories inside of your mind.
And with the essence of the crown chakra we ask,
Who is it that's remembering?
Who is it that can travel to all of these places?
Who am I?
Who am I?
This is the essence of the crown chakra.
The place beyond language,
The place beyond rational thought,
The place of inexplicable knowing.
The seed sound or the Bijja mantra is om.
Using your awareness on the crown of the head I invite you with the inhalations and exhalations to internally repeat this ancient sound of om.
With every inhalation om,
With every exhalation om.
Know this place inside of you and know that you are home at last.
Home at last.
Final inhalation through the nose.
And exhale,
Sigh it out through the mouth.
Slowly and gently when you're ready you can begin to open your eyes.
